  1. Have you had a look at the Formosa 480 CC. Formosa was finalist in BOTY at Trailerboat.
  2. Mike, I'll be out there somewhere tomorrow. Hopefully to land a beaky solo.... Give me a call on 21 call sign "Sea Pro" Give me a call on the mobile tonight
  3. Just been on the phone with Mike (Fishbones). He has just weighed a bluefin which took 4.5hrs and went 137.5 kg and measured 2.6m to the fork!!! Based on the length/weight chart, for a fleeting moment we thought it may get to 150 or even nudge the national record for 24kg. I will let Mike tell the rest as soon as he has cleaned up. Congrats mate, FISH OF A LIFETIME.
  4. Half the ramp was open on last weekend which was enough for me to launch my goliath. Made it back before the southerly but just in time to run into the sunday sailors being blown around the ramp. Combine that with the P platers launching dad's boat with some mates for a day on the grog and....well lets just say a few words were muttered. I live local and my fear is that there will be increased usage as it is now one of the better ramps in the area but there is no increase (or better use of) parking areas. Sunday was an ordinary spring day and trailers were parked streets away. Imagine what summer will be like. To me it seems like a job half done. In then end it doesn't bother me because I am out early and back late so manage to miss the congestion. Cudos to the council though.. The ramp and pontoon are great.
  5. Never mind the people, what about all the snapper in the ponds.. I don't think they travel well.... Lets hope there will be a release of breeding fish into the Hacking. It's not just the staff who are going to be hurt by this move, a mate of mine services the pumps and pipes for the breeding ponds. There must be other subbys who will have one less job when they move.
  6. Wish this wind would bugger off. Maybe it's time for a bigger boat

  7. The same AND MORE. We don't have an FTA with China so you would be up for duty as well. Not sure of the amount but it is usually anywhere from 15 to 30 %
  8. Pete, Mine is still on and has no problem passing inspection each year. In fact I had it inspected for rego a week ago. Cheers
  9. Rumours of small blacks in close. I'm ooorrrffffff

  10. Hey Mike, What about me ya bugger.. Left me for another bloke have ya!!! I was gunna put my hand up and offer to take him out but I know he is in great hands with you. Actually I still owe you a trip in mine so maybe we could kill two birds with one stone. Cheers
  11. Woohoo dale, way to stand up for yourself. And here I am thinking your a softy for putting me on the rod. The way you made your point in that second post shows that there is a life of politics ahead for you old chap. One thing would be certain with DALE as our MP.... NO MARINE PARKS...
  12. The first thing to do is check that the breather valve on the fuel tank is open and venting.
  13. STRIPED MARLIN

  14. Ahh, mother nature at it's finest. Having just witnessed one of the hottest marlin bites of all time at the Broken Bay comp I can honestly say that I am in awe of her. And while on the shark theme, there was a 570kg tiger shark weighed in the comp which is the heaviest game fish ever weighed on the Broken Bay club scales. Another boat weighed a 402kg specimen. You have to feel sorry for them, I can picture their excitement on the way back to the weigh in and thinking it was in the bag only to discover that they had been belted by 170kgs!!!!!! Our tally for the comp:- 15-8-3. All striped marlin. Is there anything greated than perfect weather , loads of fish, good mates and a few beers  Sorry for hijacking the post, I just couldn't help it.
  15. I had the pleasure of skippering said boat and thoroughly enjoyed the tournament with Dale on board. Check out the attached sounder image from the Thursday before the comp.. I'm sure it will make all gamefisherman envious. Note the marlin on top of the bait school. Its the new Simrad HDS Broadband Sounder. I have never seen anything like it. I have been running it for three months now and the clarity at all depths is amazing. Previously I was running a Koden 833c which is what many charter boats run and it doesn't compare. Let's hope the fish follow me to Broken Bay this weekend. Good luck to those who are fishing. Cheers
  16. Thanks Gents. Whitworths had yachting lanyards which I was able to adapt.
  17. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some double outrigger halyards?? We run Rupp Tournament Riggers and the rigging is fine except the sun has damaged the elastic in the halyards. I can only find full rigging sets on the market. Cheers
  18. Good to see you finally blew the cobwebs out of the beast. I called you last week to see if you were going out because I was looking for a fish. My boat is off line for a couple of weeks while I have some new electronics and outriggers installed. I am headding to JB on the 18th for three weeks so you should think about bringing the boat down for a couple of days. Hopefully those fin will hang around.
  19. Hey Bricky, Ive got telescopic on mine. I'll get you out on the water again soon and you can have a good squiz. Cheers
  20. I replaced both of mine yesterday, a couple an hour of my time and $150 for cables. If your handy then it's do it yourself, if not then expect $3-400 with a dealer.
  21. Well done boys, it's about time you gave the weapon its bluewater fix. Did you launch from Port Hacking or Kiama??
  22. Gary, Lala and I spoke about just that. The plan would be for a yellowfin day. I'll keep my eye on the forecast.
  23. I went from Port Hacking to Port Stephens in a 24' walkaround. Pick the weather and it's as easy as the proverbial.
  24. Dale, Nice fish there mate. I can't get enough of those colours. Did you miss me at port??? I wanted desperately to head up for a day or two but work kept me tied up. By the sounds of things it was a good trip to miss, weather wise. Anyway hopefully the weather in Sydney will clear soon and we can go and chase some fin. Cheers Shawn
