    Home Invasion

i feel your pain mate. a few years ago i had my house broken into and the home thearter system, tv, laptop and even microwave was stolen. was only a young fella (19) and didnt have insurance, took me a long time to get over it. i think the worst part is the fact that you KNOW someone was in your space, and did whatever they wanted for as long as they were there. ide be thanking my lucky stars u didnt wake up while they were there, could have been much worse for you and your family. best piece of advice i can offer is get yourself a pooch. i have a husky and a blue healer. while the husky would more then likely lick someone to death on his own, the blue healer is the best guard dog. gets annoying at times as he barks non stop when he knows someone he doesnt know is near (drunk kids walking past at 3am) but that said if someone was in his space when they shouldnt be, ide hate to see the outcome. hope everything is a cinch to get back via insurance, and the putrid oxygen thieves find karma has a bigger bite then they first thought. cheers, daniel
  3. hi guys, what can i use in crab pots that i can get from a regular butcher? usually throw the pots out first thing, and unless there is some fish carcasses at the ramp i leave them in ute. bringing something from home would be much, much easier. any ideas?
  4. thanks champ, was my own fault about losing it, left it in the back 45 degree rod holder and smashed across the bay to get back to the boatramp as it was in the torrential rain we had 2 weekends ago at greenwall point. turns out i should have stopped to grab it as i got soaked anyways
  5. hi guys, lost this reel, along with the rod the other weekend, so have no use for the spool, brand new never been used. if anyone has a use for it pm your address and ill pop it in the mail. cheers, daniel

  8. hi guys, my new tinney has bodgy electrics. figured what a perfect opportunity to make a mess and some mistakes before i take it somewhere to get it done properly that said, im keen to have a go, and maybe even learn how it works. its 4.25m. has front nav lights that work, a rear white light on a stalk that doesnt. a fluro light that does work, a fish finder that constantly sees fish on the surface (maybe earth problem?) a bilge that doesnt seem to work? and a battery that floats around the deck. a switch panel that seems to work ok, but mounted in dumb spot. plans are: renew all wiring in boat (its old, rather start with new stuff) change the lights to led get the rear light working, and led conversion install some more led lighting inside boat, fluro is great but is too bright 90% of the time, would red be okay if it was hidden under the gunnels, wouldnt be seen diect anywhere (including in boat) but would let off a red glow, benefits being night vision and softer light. get bilge working put battery in a box, and hide it. install a battery isolator move switch panel to womewhere where it cant be bumped while running install a couple of 12v sockets for phone chargers, fridges etc etc move fish finder and sort its dramas install led lights on trailer any web sites that may help me would be great, comments of lil tips sweet. before i go buying wire etc etc, any idea what i should be looking for would be great cheers
  9. care to name the offending dealer
  10. ive rang waterways, and the boat code number dates back to 2001. im guessing the motor is around a 99 model. after looking at the brooker website, it looks like a 430 saratoga, mite give them a call and ask some questions. keep the ideas coming guys
  11. upon further inspection im *almost* ready to ask you what beer do u drink will make some calls during the week and send them some pics and see if they will claim it, cheers
  12. aha, i had had it identified as an older bluefin esturary trekker, but since then ive been told its half a dozen other things, so in short i now havnt got a clue hence why im keen to find out

  15. here we go, pics of my new tinny. 4.25m 25hp yammy 4 stroke navman 450 finder full decks brand spanker dunbier 4.2s trailer all ready to go! been getting it sorted to go all this week, will be heading down to the shoalhaven to take her for her maiden voyage. got it on the new trailer via unbolting the front winch post, cutting off the drawbar, and winching onto the new trailer while the old one was sitting up on engine stands. will be good to get out and work out exactly how i want to set it up
  16. at a guess i would say around 400kgs. its a 4.25m flat botton tinny, with a 25hp 4 stroke yam, and full floors
  17. hi guys, i picked my boat up 2 days ago and on the way home the bearings colapsed on the right hand side. the old trailer is bad, and i dont trust it even after i fix the bearing, and i have a brand spanker dunbier sitting here. the problem is how do i get the boat from one trailer to another without water...is it possibul?. its a 4.25m bluefin flat bottom tinny. i had the idea to cut the winch post off the old trailer, back the new one in front of the old one, and try to winch it on, but im not sure... any ideas guys, cheers
  18. ill be taking my boat out for its maiden voyage! heading down to minamurra on sat and the shoalhaven on sunday, cant wait. i just need to work out how to get it from the old trailer to the new one without water...
  19. should be able to pick inox up at any hardware
  20. the reason its eftpos only is due to the fact that they do the license on the eftpos machine, and its hard to jam cash in it
  21. where abouts did u put the boat in if u dont mind me asking? at the boatramp near ace tackle/flowerpower?
  22. aha, maybe thats what im doing wrong, cheers
  23. while on the subject, i have a eftpos type recipt license, which wont take too kindly to being laminated... is it possibul to get a card type one?im not fussed about cost, will even renew or get a 3 year one if it comes in type that i can laminate. the paper that it is printed on atm wont last the remaining 6 months in my wallet
  24. thanks for the headsup champ, cheers, daniel
  25. its true, it seems like the assholes are taking over. i must admit, ide more then likely be with gongfisho on this one, but seeing as he had parked his car up, i would try to find a more creative way to deal with the situation.
