  1. You can order them through their distributors on their webpage. i've ordered caps before. i warn you though, those caps are one size fit all, if you have a big head, it won't fit comfortably. another thing is they might take a while

  2. This might be irrelevant to most but i'm very fond of japanese fishing gear. So my mate got me to translate some things in japanese. He just came back from Japan and got a crap load of gear by just pointing out on the list what he wanted in small tackle shops that had no one speak a word of english. Most stuff was in japanese rather than english even though most tackle companies have brandings in english...as i am told. Again, might be irrelevant to non-speakers but finding reviews/info with the japanese name gives heaps more results. You also find more stores in japan that stock a particular brand.

  3. Use cheap mono for backing. If you're buying everything from the same store, get them to do it. ie put the mono and roll of line on to your spool. Saves you buying a roll of mono unless you know you'll buy more reels and braid with it. If they don't thats bad service =p

Mono and fluro are kind of the same material, the plus for fluro is optical density is much lower meaning less visible in water.

  4. Great Stuff

The Stella is already very smooth...don't know how the JDM version is even smoother. But i buy all my reels from Japan now because the quality is different from other countries even if they are the same reel

  5. Haha..nope waste of money!. I have better things to spend a $1000 on

Android is simply better than any Iphone OS...although I do own a powerbook 17" but will never buy an iphone as no need- they are a huge waste of money in Australia still with the crazy plan options available, plus the cost of internet in Au is nowhere near as cheap or fast as US or Canada.

Why do you ask me if I own one????????????????

i only asked because you were having problems with your phone. it was only in jest because of all the problems the iphone is having atm.

  6. not sure about in the US but bringing them back they will ask if its been used. Just say yes and then say you've cleaned them under fresh water. this is with saltwater lures however.

but if customs here want to take them, they will put it thru quarantine and give it back to you. thats what the tv told me

  7. the middle fish is a black drummer. a chef told me to severe the spine for best quality. so i gave it a go. i guess thats the result of it *shrugs*. just like you iki spike a fish, all their colours come out. it turned back into black after a while. black drummer have stripes as well but its less noticeable because they're black already

  8. Woke up at 5am and was umming and arring about whether to go fishing because it was cold and it was low tide. High tide would come around 1:30pm. Drummer fishing seemed a bit difficult. The swells were southerly so i picked a north facing spot on the northern beaches just in case swells got a bit high (can't always trust seabreeze). Got to the spot and chose a very low lying ledge because it had more wash. First few casts were snags so i waited till a bit more light came out so i can see where my line was. Nothing for 2hrs. As the water got higher and bit of berley. I landed 2 drummer and a blackie within the hour. All fish came in on the 40cm mark. I never target blackfish but occasionally i get them on bread. This one came in at 40cm plus a few millimetres making it my first 40cm+ model. All fish were caught with king prawns.

The waves were refracting onto the ledge making it a bit dangerous and the higher ledges were taken up. With a good feed of fish, i pulled the pin and went home.

  9. when you come back to customs don't say its new otherwise they'll try to whack duty on it.

say you used it on a fishing trip and make sure you say its been cleaned with freshwater. then they won't bother you too much and usuaully leave your rod alone still nicely packed till you get home.

  10. nothing wrong with that set up. if you're not intending to jig very deep waters, you can got with the 400 t-curve.

also depending line class you're using, you may find the drag a bit light if you want to use very heavy line. the exceler da has 15kg as oppose to 10kg on the saltist. work out which line strength you want to use b4 deciding

you can also look at the daiwa catalina rods too. both are similarly priced...i think =p
