I finally got around to trying my luck at tout fishing today. I dont know if you guy remember but a member of this forum put up a youtube video asking where it was taken... Well I knew. I started out from my place at about 7am. One fish for the day but it was a nice one of about 40cm. love this little stream. I saw other fish taking bugs or something from the surface, but had no action for the rest of the morning. the trout was released again to fight another day. as i assume the guys in the youtube video did. the waterfall from the fore mentioned video caught the fish at the back of this pool. the fish

I set out early this morning in all the smoke for a bit of fishing at my local hole. the fish seemed to be feeding at the time so maybe mornings are best for now... any how, i hooked 2 small fish and managed to land one... so finally my drought has been broken. it was less than 2kg but i still had fun with it and still almost lost it in a fallen tree.

too much debris in my little pond, saboo but i do enjoy the light gear

I dont really have a rod suitable for heavier stuff. I have 4.5kg gear for spinning from the rocks (yeah i like to fish light) but the rod is like 11-12 foot, way long. maybe i should invest in a 6 foot spin rod. :/

oh and i took my camera with a a cpl filter... got some photos but i dont know what they are like yet

I spent most of yesterday morning waiting for my wife to get up... Noon came and she still hadn't surfaced (her sleeping patterns are out of whack), so i grabbed my gear and headed down to my carp hole. I had a good scan around once there to see what was happening and there were quite a few cruising on the surface so i set up my gear and burlyed a bit with both sinking and floating burley... they just werent interested in the burly at all, in fact they werent feeding at all... from here on it was corn, no weight and sight fishing. after 2 hours i saw a dark shape cruising the shallows just a few mtrs in front of me and cast in frnt of it. my bait disappeared, i struck and set the hook. the reel screamed for only 3 meters as the fish came up to the surface and seemed to look at me before steaming off towards a fallen tree. I did all I could to stop the bugger but it busted off... I didnt stand a chance on my 2kg gear, it would easily have been a pb I stayed on till 4.30 but with no hits, in fact after 2.30 all the fish seemed to disappear... this is weirding me out a little.

My local hole still isn't firing. Fished it for 2.5 hours and landed an exclamation mark (almost as bad as a dough nut). That's one eel and one tortoise (long neck). What I saw, thati haven't in the past is small carp (1 to2kg). I have previously only seen large fish in there. Saw about 6cruising but not yet biting. Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk now Free
