Well done BobFish, and for you guys threatening to fish pittwater, just get out there and do it. Last weekend was just beautiful out there with not too many boats around. I fitted one of those to my 1997 quitrex 455 escape by using a jig saw (in amatuer hands) and the result was great. It did not drag when planeing, and was easily removed for kid time, but I can appreciate your apprehension at cutting bloody big hole your baby. Maybe get your local ally welder to make a plug for the hole if you really thik you need it when not fishing, or get the family to board to board from the other side.

I'm not sure about this, but I think the first letter of the HIN number is the manufacturers designation ie. T is for Telwater industries (Quintrex & Stacer). Maybe of some help. Regards Darren

The melting effect you mention could be from petrol, which will destroy styrene foam. Thats the normal method of floatation, but you can buy foam which is not affected by fuel; All I know is that when a boat is built to survey standard they use "green foam" which is not affected by fuel. I don't know where you get it but try 'grippy rubber' at Rydalmere.
