  3. Hi All I was researching some areas to fish sometime in next couple of days - without a boat I am stuck looking for land base fishing I came across Chipping Norton Lake as it is closer to Picton area :-) So I started researching the web and got mix information - some says great to fish but do not eat the fish, others says totally dead waters don't fish and I found this website http://www.wsbb.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=49&Itemid=62 not sure the integrity of the website though. So any Raiders fished this lake or even surrounding areas? happy to try it "C&R" Cheers Raf
  4. Agree might be a pest that brought in from O/S - just saying better to alert experts to ID this nice catch tho lol BR Raf
  5. Nice catch fellas where is harbour beach?
  6. Yeah you hit the nail there - the wind is unbelievable mostly if you go out near the bridge yet again I am really happy this time we landed a few :-)
  7. Yeah will be always coming back in the area - Mrs family lives up in Tuncurry and Blackhead and we are thinking of getting a holiday place as well. We went out the boat but did not get any luck - then pop decided to try the shores/banks
  8. Hi All It was a great New Year for me while up in Tuncurry/Forster. I know it is a late post however I am very happy to share. 1st of Jan I went out with family for landbase fishing around the Bay in Tuncurry, about 2 blocks away from Nan and pop's home in South Street. For 3 hours of Fishing we had great nibbles and landed a few and released them back some are too small and some are keep-able 3x Breams - all over 15cm 1x Flounder - roughly 30cm 1x Flathead - 37cm 2x Whitings - both just over 20cm and my Fish of the day which I personally caught "Very Happy" Sand Shark - just under 2 ft long I guess Really happy with it Thank you to Roberta for the tips :-) We used Mullet Fillets, Pilchards and Prawns as our baits Regards
  9. Thanks Roberta much appreciated We will be up there during the holidays, hopefully to hook something this time will be bringing a better set of rigs this time :-) BR
  10. we're planning to go back up in Forster sometime early december to take my side of family and staying at my wife family's holiday house hope to catch something when I go back :-)
  11. Hi Scratchie yes very windy! I stayed up for extra 2 days when the boys left to head back home sunday - didn't even had the chance to take the dingy out. there are mullets in the river - nonetheless no luck for that 5 days weekend - very unusual for me too. everytime we go up and stay with the family - we've been catching flatties even just under the bridge BR PBK
  12. Hi all Im not doing a fishing report as we didn't catch any :-( we tried the break wall but water is too rough and the jetties are gone we tried wallamba river stayed there for 2 nights nothing as well. then last resort is beach fishing, again no luck as it is very rough. next time were up ill try to visit Taree and see if there are any good up there we probably doing something wrong - we used Pilchard/Prawns/Squid and some lures no luck
  13. Thanks for the report - it will be interesting 4wd for us then and fishing at night......... will post more when we get there this Friday
  14. We will be staying at WAllamba River Holiday Park - might test the waters there this coming weekend can't wait 4 more sleeps and we will be up there we will be fishing more in night
  15. I see what you mean in there with the oldies fishing on the jetty - in memory it is a a fair drop before the water - hopefully it will not affect that much. Yes we applied for permits already with the great lakes council - we are coming up in the fortnight Hi Scratchie thanks matev - yes let us know how you go with the fishing around the area - I was thinking of Back beach as well when we get there in the fortnight
  16. This is the pier right next to the rides and park, right? it will open up more space for fishing then eh? Yeah been there - in the last couple of trips up to the area - didn't catch any fish :-( I might been doing something wrong Hi Roberta Thanks for the info - been around the area couple of times but not expert and do not have the great local knowledge My wife's family live in the area (tuncurry south street and another house in blackhead) however the reason i am asking the raiders as this time when we go up in the fortnight we have friends coming. We will be camping and 4wding - so any advise about beach and onshore fishing will be good. As for my own experience - I only fish on the break wall (along rockpool), under the bridge and in the lake on a boat. So not really an extensive experience there.
  17. Hi Raiders hope everyone is well We are going up to Forster/Tuncurry - any good spot to fish? will be doing fishing on the shore and if lucky to hire a boat then we are going more in waters. all comments will be much appreciated - thanks raiders PBK1776
