  1. Some terrific fish there mate. Congrats to you both. Bass on surface lures ... crackin' fun! How did the two lures hold up to the session? I have looked at the Surface Breakers on numerous occasions and thought the bib looked too flimsy for bass so I stuck with the Halco Night Crawler and the jitterbugs. Cheers Hodgey

Thanks all! Had a great day and received new lures for chasing the freshwater fish. Spending a bit of time on the folks' farm at the moment but hope to get out on the water soon. Cheers Hodgey
  3. Fantastic photos of an amazing trip Stewy. I'm glad you have ticked the green fish off your list now! Well done to all who attended. That place is definitely on my bucket list! Cheers Skip
  4. There is indeed something magical about that time of day and I reckon those photos capture it very well. Terrific photos mate. Thank you for sharing them. Cheers Hodgey
  5. A terrific report as always Roberta. Those Bass were in great condition ... which usually means they're brawlers! Sounds like you have them sussed now and the outfit you're using is well up to the task. Top photos too! Cheers Ian

      55cm and 60cm. Off to a good start :-)

  7. That's a huge improvement on your previous PB ... congrats! You just need to remember the technique, equipment and conditions you used to catch it and you'll be surprised how many more bigger fish will come your way. Cheers Hodgey
  8. Great scenery and terrific fish taken on various lure configurations (I like the blades fished under the beetle spins - deadly on most freshwater fish including yellas). Another top report mate. Keep 'em coming! Cheers Ian
  9. A great report mate. That's a terrific bag of yellas! Cheers Hodgey
  10. I reckon yellow is the key, Andrew Congrats on a very tasty feed Brendon. The surface action is only going to improve even more! Best wishes to you and the family Ian

  13. Excellent news. There's a few other fish I can think of that need to be reviewed as well IMO and I hope they reconsider their size/catch limits in the future. Cheers Hodgey
  14. A very chunky bass Tom and a worthy PB. Well done! Cheers Hodgey
  15. A remarkable tale about two of Australia's most elusive creatures! Hats off to you Prof. S.L. Inky. Looks like a bloody nice waterway. great to see you out on the water again mate. All indications are it is going to be a very productive couple of months for chasing freshwater fish .... get the frequent flyer points ready! Cheers Skip
  16. Excellent report Stewy. You got to enjoy both my favorite past times and it sounds like you had a ball! Well done to Jani for putting you onto some fish. That reddie was a gem! Terrific photos too mate. Catch up with you when you get back. Cheers Skip

  20. +1. Give them a call and find out the correct information from the source. Then, when someone tries to pull this stunt on you again, you can quote the correct answer and provide them with a phone number to contact so they can 'educate themselves' Cheers Hodgey
  21. I don't have any feedback to provide for the Daiwa reel you mentioned but you might like to investigate the Abu Revo range. They will fall into budget and are great for bass, yellas, cod etc. I have had my SX for a couple of years now without issue and I am in the process of purchasing the new STX to go with it. They're cheaper than my chronarch but perform well above their pricetag. Good luck with your new purchase. Cheers Hodgey
  22. Power Pro or FINS braid in 8 - 10lb is fine but I would consider 10lb Sunline FC Rock for the leader. You would need a lot to go in your favor to land a good flattie on 6lb fluro but you will have a greater chance of consistently landing bigger specimens on 10-12lb IMO.
  23. Have a lovely day Donna. Hope you're enjoying your holiday Cheers Ian
  24. Terrific fish on fly Tony...especially out of the new yak! Great to see you out on the water and getting stuck into some fish. I was wondering how you went paddling the yak with the new Ukelele? Cheers Skip
  25. Great report as always mate. I reckon you'd catch fish out of a seaworthy bath if you could lay your hands on one! With the weather starting to improve now along with the water temp I assume you, Josh and the boys will be out chasing the bass soon. I look forward to reading more reports about the boys' success! Cheers Ian
