  1. Great trip so far mate. Hope your trip ends with a spectacular new PB. Looking forward to some more photos! Cheers Hodgey
  2. Nothing new here as far as I can see? This ' C&R during closed season' issue has been around for several years. This is a link to a post I did in 2009: Bass and EP closure This subject caused quite a stir on the forum back then so I visited Fisheries to confirm the rule. They also stated that there was no scientific evidence available that confirmed these species would not spawn if they had been caught and released with minimal handling. They cannot spawn in enclosed waters hence the exception to the rule. Cheers Hodgey

  9. Slow and steady, Roberta. No good undoing the corrective surgery and prolonging the day you're back out on the water terrorising the piscatorial fraternity! Great to see that you could transfer booking fees etc. I reckon the ukelele is probably good physio so strum away to your heart's content. Loking forward to your first report back on the water. 14. Good stuff Stu. Any day on the water, regardless of weather, is a good one. Good luck chasing the cod mate. I expect to see some crackin' photos of your 1st, 2nd, ..... (With the water cooling down now, slow your retrieve down even more so the lure 'pesters' them. There is good numbers of cod moving down here now so I hope they put in an appearance for you. Enjoy the first strike! ) Cheers Hodgey

  20. Whiting on surface lures generally require a warm water temp to really 'fire'. 24 degrees or warmer will see them consistently and aggressively attack lures. As the water temp cools, so does their activities. When they are firing, they will be looking for a lure that is worked very briskly across the top of the water' without a pause. Most of the time they will shy away from a lure once it stops, but there will be the occasional exception. Tom's suggested method with plastics should see you getting a few Cheers Hodgey
  21. Terrific report as always Stu. Love the photo of the inhaled lure! Keep the reports coming. I hope April is a bumper month for you! Cheers Hodgey
