  1. Check out the "morningtide fishing" boys out on YouTube. They do heaps of agixkbairinf and popping off the rocks and have videos about rods they use. Might gain something from that. Goodluck. Daniel.
  2. Thankyou to all who have replied. I will have a look into all and see which I favour. Any replies were very helpful. Daniel.
  3. Hi everybody, so i have an electric motor that requires a 12v 100ah deep cycle battery. What is the best battery in between $200-$275. I appreciate any help as this has been quite a confusing topic for me to attempt to learn. So if anyone runs a battery that meets the critera please let me know how yours goes or which one i should purchase. Once again thakyou in advance for any help. Daniel.

  8. The sounder would be for the tinny, 3.4m. For the size of the screen, it doesnt bother me to much im more solooking for accurate depth soundings. Thankyou for the reply appreciate it.
  9. Hey fellas, so im going away to Mallacoota at the end of the year and am taking kayak and tinny. I will be targeting bream and flatties and just want a sounder that can give me depth and dropoffs not to worried about showing fish. My price range as stated is approximately $250 to $400 but I don't need something to extreme so just something that will give me solid depth and dropoff soundings. Colour is preferred but not a necessity. Thankyou to anyone willing to reply, really appreciate it.
  10. Thanks for the info guys. Appreciate it.
  11. Hey guys i understand about the swell and when i get there if it isnt safe i wont head out on the kayak. But does anyone know about fishing off a kayak here? cheers krause for your reply
  12. Hey guys, so i was fishing off the break-wall in Wollongong harbour the other day and noticed how flat it seemed off the rocks on a day that wasn"t exactly a small swell. So my plan is in the school holidays to have a fish on the kayak out at Wollongong with a few mates. Planning to launch in the harbour and paddle out past the break-wall and fish one rod with bait the other flicking plastics, to be honest i don"t really know what id expect to catch but maybe a snapper or find a school of salmon or tailor busting up. Has anyone fished just out off Wollongong and know what best bait or plastic to use or what fish i should expect to catch. Any info would be great guys, appreciate it.
  13. 70+ is a great salmon good effort
  14. Sounds like a fun session. That is the best thing to do with gut hooked fish. Trying to remove the hook from a gut hooked fish can often lead to death and even more so with whiting as i find them to be quite a fragile fish.
  15. well the forecast happened to be completely wrong and the swell ended up being just over a meter id say. Started with flicking metals off the rocks for no luck then moved to throwing some prawns off the breakwall and found a nice school of trevally. I ended up with 5 with the biggest going about 35, my mate also got 5. I also caught what looked like little drummer, i caught 5 of these. And also a wrasse and a little yellowtail. Nice mixed bag and a nice day out, geez those trevally go hard on the 3-5kg gear.
  16. I am aware of what the weather forecast is so I will head down and if it is dangerous I will just fish the harbour for tiny bream to pass time. Thanks for your help guys appreciate it.
  17. Hey guys sorry for late notice but heading down tomorrow and wondering if any of the above mentioned fish are about. Was thinking about using metals off the break walls but anywhere else in walking distance would be fine. Any tips about where or what to use or any other fish about in the area would be greatly appreciated, cheers guys.
  18. Would be good news for recreational fishos
  19. Dont think they really need an answer. They make up for that in the huge range of quality bream reels that shimano dont challenge like the caldia, certate, exist, steez, luvius so on. Shimano have strengths and so do daiwa, they are just in different areas i guess.
  20. Hey brassroots, i understand what you mean mate but this braid would be half as thin as the firelineand this is the thing i want to know more about like weather it still has the strength and if the super thin diamater makes much of a difference to casting and sensitivity.
  21. Once again thanks for the reply. The versatility would be good so i am looking at the 2004. The combo would still only weigh 305g in total which is still lovely and light and able to flick lightly weighted plastics and hard bodies but strong enough to pull out bream and bass from their homes.
  22. Hey guys, wondering if anyone has experienced using this braid. I am interested in the 7lb which is extremely thin at PE 0.3. Really interested in it as i believe casting would be superior and 7lb would be easily strong enough for my bream fishing. Sorry about so many questions lately but appreciate all replies. Thanks in advance for any replies as always, Cheers, daniel.
