Hi Fellow Raiders, Look like it's going to be a cracker of a weekend and time to brush off the cobwebs from the boat. I usually fish around Botany Bay and though it might be time to take a look at Long Reef as I've seen many reports of good fish being produced and have never ventured that way. I've got a 490 Freedom Sport with 75hp and was looking for some advice on - Distance from Sydney Heads From the many GPS marks out there how large is the Long Reef area What's the depth around the reef Thanks in advance Matt

Hi Raiders, I've recently upgraded to a 490 Freedom Sport and was looking for some ideas for storing rods whilst driving between sports or not in use while on the water, i've considered a rocket launcher but concerned using light rods they may bounce out. I was also looking at adding underfloor storage that some Freedom Sport's already come with, looking for ideas? Thanks Matt

Hi fellow Raiders, I've recently purchased a boat that has a VHF radio installed, i know that i need to obtain a certificate of proficiency can anyone suggest from experience is it better to study the handbook yourself and then sit the exam or go to one of the courses. Any suggestions on locations to around Sydney to site the course? Thanks Matt

Maybe if people got there boats serviced regularly and look after them, then they wouldn't get stuck in the middle of the ocean, when I get out there I want to get the most of my day....

Hi Guys, I'm just after some advice regarding prop selection, i have a brooker 435 with 40hp 2004 Mariner. I've had a look at what prop i currently have and it reads - 816702A40P12 mercury, making the assumption that it is a 12 pitch prop. It currently rev's out at 3000 at top speed. The boat doesn't have any trouble getting out of the water. Been searching online shop but not sure if i need a 13 spline etc. Any advise would be appreciated.

Hi fellow raiders, I recently took the boat out to Rose bay on a very low tide, when i was dropping the boat in it hit the bottom part of the leg and broke a small piece off. I have had the boat out a few times since and have really notice a difference. Has anyone had the same thing happen to them ?

Hi there, I have had the boat in the garage over the winter months and have attempted to do the right thing however obviously not enough and i had to replace the steering cable on my Brooker, the grease i was using seemed to dry out on the inner cable and don't want to go through that again. I was after some ideas on what grease would best suit my needs, i have had a look out there and there are so many types to choose from. Any ideas or experience would be greatly appreciated as the kids want to get out on the water. Thanks Matt

Hey Mate, Sounds like you had a great day, Good going buddy.. You did better then people in boats.. and when you got home you only had to clean your rod We not only did bad, but we had hours of cleaning up also.... Anyways, hopefully better luck next time!! LOL

Yeah we went out for the first time chasing kings with out any luck, saw a couple chase a diver i was using but that was as close as we got. Didn't seem to be many around today. matt
