  8. In my experience when you have windy and rainy weather like at the moment, the fish tend not to bite, that's just my personal experience to be honest, others may have had better luck though. Good luck.

  11. Yeah they are great to eat if you know how to prepare them the right way, but id only eat them from clean waters, throw them on the BBQ and they taste great.

  13. Lol isn't that what the fish finders are for
  14. what kind of features would a good fishing app need? I could always code one for fun
  15. Any bream around the 50cm is amazing, I doubt anyone has seen a 70cm bream, I think the DPI just use a formula to calculate the weight of a bream using its length and did it all the way up to 70cm, but you never know there could be a massive bream living somewhere lol
  16. True forliano but technique is just as important as time I'm sure

  19. Hey mate, yeah i just read through it, however, i found most of the advice is aimed at boat fishing, so im hoping someone can give me some more land specific advice, thanks for the guidance
  20. Hi everyone I've been trying to catch my first jewfish for the last couple of months with no luck. I've tried pittwater, and georges river spots so far with no luck. So far i've only tried dead baits like red meat and squid. I highly appreciate if anyone can give me some advice regarding sydney land based spots for catching jewifsh and what baits and gear to use. Thanks.
  21. I was there over the weekend, stayed for about 5hours, and only caught a 40cm flathead, and a good sized octopus. I think the stormy weather last week didnt help . Mainabar is really beautiful though
  22. Thanks everyone, @ chocolate we were fishing around Picnic Point , which is more upstrearm from milperra.
  23. This is my first fishing report on fishraider. I decided to take my little brother fishing after he finished school at 4.30. We drove to Georges river during peak hour traffic, took a lot longer to get to our the spot. We took a piece of frozen chicken with us for bait. We got to the river by 5, and started fishing, off my second cast I got snagged and was forced to rig my line again. Then, my little brother also got snagged, and I had to do his line too. On top of all this it was raining. I was thinking of giving up early, however, we decided to move spots. At this new spot we were'nt getting snagged anymore. By sunset we had a few small bream. We kept fishing past the sunset, however, all bites stopped. My brother wanted to leave, however, I told him to be a little patient and wait for the bigger fish to come out. Then a while later, I decide to reel in my line, and I notice a heavy weight on it, it puts up a nice fight, I bring it in and its a 33cm Bream which has swallowed the chicken whole. We leave shortly after. Not bad for georges river, considering everyone tells me its pointless fishing there. This has got me thinking of fishing more often at the Georges. sorry for the bad pic, ill try better next time
