  1. So I go for a walk along mascot canal along Qantas drive every lunchtime . Today something caught my eyes! It was a broken fishing rod on the edge of the canal in long grass on the other side of the fence. Curiosity got the better and I hope over to get it and check it out only to find a penn spin fisher attached.. What a find! It was really dirty and sitting there a while by the looks of it! So I took the lot back to the office threw out the destroyed rod and just finished cleaning it up. Still really smooth just like the one I have at home. What a win!

If any fish raiders have lost this reel in the location I found it let me know! If not the I have an empty rod at home waiting

  2. Yep that's correct I know that. I've had 4 tiller steer outboards and all have been normal set ups with the lever to release and lift for trim positions or to lift out completely but the issue is this motor locks in and will not move unless I hop out and wrestle to pin out. Then releasing the motor. There is no other way to lift it .

There is no lever to release like usual tiller steers. The black lever in photo 2 is only the lock for when it is all the way up if your with me

That's why I'm stumped and Google has zero on the issue and I can't find what I need on the model tilt trim component!

    Ahhhhhh

  3. Any one handy with 30 yammies?

I've had a few tiller outboards before this Yamaha 30 and all of which had a lever for manual lift to the trimmed posstion or even to lift completely when beaching. This thing does not!!

For me to lift it I have to get out of the boat pull the pin out and then lift it! Drives me insane !!

seems this locks into the pin ! If I'm on the water and have to lift the motor in a hurry I'm screwed!

Anyone have any idea how I can fix it or is there a trim kit I can get before I take to it with a sledge hammer :@ haha

    Cheers

  4. The gf and I headed down to the onsite van in lake Conjola for the weekend and had a ball. Weather on Saturday was poor light annoying rain most the day but it didn't stop us! Hit the water and headed up the lake for a relaxing arvo. I was flicking a squidgy paddle tail around and landed a 54 cm flatty! Awesome haven't had a nice flatty in the lake in months! Quick snap a kiss and back it goes nicley! A lot of undersize bream and whiting which is great to see! On the last bait ( live nippers ) the gf lands her pb whiting nice and fat! 37 from memory. Great fun on her little rod and again quick snap and back it goes! Great few hours .

Stoked the lake is starting to regenerate!

This morning Walked down to waters edge to find just 5 mins earlier the stake holding the boat snapped and she swinging on the rear Anchor.. Nice early morning swim to get the boat back!

  5. Haha nice! I got there later Friday night and left Sunday luch time.. A long way for such a brief time but only made me want to go for longer.. We did a lot of bush walking and swimming as for fishing zero! A bloke was out all day Saturday for nothing.. Said he was using spinners and poppers in the structure . Tips.. Take the rods and tackle box haha I had car issues and had to take the old mans hatch back.. No room for rods :(

  6. So I've since returned from dunns swamp... Get there ! As fast as you can go! It is absolutely amazing the Rock clifs the go dead straight into the water and all the colours in different light are amazing!! As for fishing I can't help as k didn't even wet a line! The camping is great clean sites and plenty of toilets around.. A friendly goanna and a few turtles swimming around at waters edge!

I'll be back that's for sure!

  7. Hi mate ,

My view on extended Bimini is go for it! I have two mates with 560 and 590 freedom cruisers and they swear by them .

Down the coast when it's mainly for skiing and cruising it's great for that extra shade and staying out of the rain however ristricts fishing greatly. Having said that its 2 mins to take it off and it opens the rear a great deal for rod movements whilst fishing . If the new models are removable then I'd get it if it was me

  8. I was looking at these two years ago! Great little boat deeper v better in chop. I ended up with. 430 stessco catcher! All the gear I needed perfect for me and a mate to head out for the day and is often go in bate bay Cronulla. Then got a 5.3 glass boat and now I recently got into a stacer nomad 4.3 front and rear cast decks . Have you looked at the stacer ? I love mine feels solid for the size when heading into chop! And stable mate up front casting and I'm up back no stability problems walking at all

  9. Golden Perch and Murry Cod are the 2 main targets. Your best bet would be mid/large divers, spinnerbaits, lipless cranks and maybe some plastics and surface lures. There's plenty of rock walls and reed edges to cast at. Just keep casting and changing lures regularly, you'll soon work out a pattern. Even if you don't find fish, it's a beautiful area to paddle around.

    Good luck!

    Cheers,

    Adam.

Legend! The photos on the internet look amazing I can't wait

  10. Cant help with that one just yet but coincidently my missus has asking to go out there for a weekend & it looks like its happening next month.I dont know how she found the place Ive never heard of it! so if you can get some info & maybe even pics of whats there I would much appreciate it!

. I'm yet to know where I'm going haha lucky I'm following a few people up! Google maps can go wrong' no worries I'll report my findings
  11. It's been ages since I've been able to take the boat out for a good fish and a while since I've posted.

I was itching to go for a spin the the boat rain hail or shine so Friday night loaded up the new smaller boat I have seeing as I sold barney the seafarer and I was all ready for a good few hours out.

Main objective was to find a few kings and show the gf what an awesome fish they are even as undersize!

So we headed off from Drummoyne ramp at 6 and off we went . Came under glades ville bridge to find what looked like penguins ?? Surly not but I'll put the pic up. Anyways get to fort Denison and the rain started ! So being a tinny with minimal cover we slowed down and trolled a red head from there on out to wedding cake markers. We got to the marker and it was empty .. We were The only boat for a good hour or so! So anchored up endured the rain and wind and set the lines with fresh squid and pillies for the last of the run in and change of the tide. About ten mins later up comes the first King . 58 cms and first one aboard the new boat! After that my gfs rod went off and after a bit of a fun fight she was done over but the anchor rope.. And same again 5 mins later unlucky for her! Rather entertaining for me haha her face lit up when she felt the runs it was doing! King for sure ! I got another rat around the 58 and then by this stage three or four boats where around and it went a bit quiet but we stayed there and I ended up with another rat and the thing was loving the idea of doing me on the anchor but managed it abord After that we came back into the ramp and headed home at 10 as we had a function to get to!

Great morning out for a bit of fun if only short! Even when you fish and get undersize Kings they are heap of fun ! Personally I could of gone out and got nothing and been happy just love heading out!

  12. Hi all!

This weekend I'm heading off for a camp trip with some mates to dunns swamp. I'm taking a kayak and a rod I know that much but as for fish, rigs, lures, or basically what to expect up there I have no idea! I've always been a saltwater fisho/ boater living on the coast! Does anyone have experience up there and could inform me on what spinners I should be looking at and what to expect

    Cheers

  13. Perfect timing mate! I have a 4.3 stacer and it's got battery and gadgets front and rear decks being the nomad model but I'm about to swap Sounders and move the battery from the rear up to the front for a live tank on the back cast deck.. Also drool over the vinyl wrap.. Looks great what you've done so far! I'll be following this thread very close! :)

Are you putting in a 12v socket? Best thing I have done with mine!

  14. Honestly don't know . To get to the iisland you need to take the car ferry . When I went many years ago we were land based do a google search quite a bit of info there

Funny story.. Apparently my mate I'm going with has been there many a time! His father and the ferry owner/ driver ( something like that) are good mates! So looks like we will head there for the weekend!
