1. Will add a few pictures of my 2008 trip down to Ulladulla with Hank. We spent a couple of great nights in the RSL Club there http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// The fishing was not good but enjoyed Hanks company. He had me pumping for yabbies for the first time. John

4. I know what you mean about the colours, you never get identical sunrises/sunsets. That is why I just love photographing them. Here in the UK we have a house on the NE coast of England at Whitley Bay and am just a few minutes walk from the sea and when in residence rarely miss a sunrise. Will add a couple of recent ones I took. http:// http:// http:// John
5. Coming back over to oz early Feb from the UK for another 3 month trip, will be based at our daughters at Warriewood. Trying to get in touch with someone I fished with on my first visit. He was called Hank and lived at Cronulla, think his wife was called Jill. He also had a holiday house down at Ulladulla where we went for a weekends fishing. Also believe his son lives at Byron Bay. Not too sure if Hank uses this forum though. Any help in getting in touch with Hank would be more than appreciated. Many thanks John
6. Lake St Clair sounds like a plan Frank Was not too keen on those "drop bears" though,I was scared to go to sleep at night when camping there. Even got photobombed by one http:// John
7. Did photograph Orions Belt from Collaroy on our last trip. This is an image of it side by side with one I photographed from Whitley Bay. As you can clearly see the Australian one is clearly "upside down " John
8. Hiya Frank, well sufficient in fishing gear now I reckon. That trolley was so handy on our last trip as we lived just over the road from the shore. Not now though as we live inland and a bit too big to get onto the bus. It was a great bit of kit and really appreciated it. Looking forward to meeting up again. John
9. Thanks Donna, already messaged a few fisho mates on here Hank, neilM and frankS. Would be great to make some more friends on here and fish with a few more. Any help in adding to my 44 ozzie fish species would be most appreciated. Salmon and jewfish are 2 that spring to mind. Will be based at our daughters at Warriewood so my local beach will be Mona Vale. Any advice on fishing around that area most appreciated. Many thanks John

11. Hiya fellow fishos,we have got our 6th ozzie trip lined up. Arriving back in Sydney 06 Feb 2017for another 3 month trip. Our daughter keeps on the move and we have stayed with her at Bondi Junction,Freshwater,Frenchs Forest and Collaroy. This time will be based at Warriewood. Apart from coming back over and seeing our daughter and grandsons again it will be great to dust down the fishing tackle and wet a line and hopefully catch a fish or three. Looking forward to meeting up with ozzie mates/fishos also. Anyone in the Warriewood area want to fish with this old wrinkley pommie just shout up John
12. Had a week up to Byron Bay last December. As luck would have it there was an Osprey nest right next to our apartment and I managed a few lucky shots with my camera. Will post them onto here now, they are lovely birds. We also had a few friendly Kookaburras which I hand fed squid fishing bait on a couple of occasions. Again lovely birds but a bit noisy at dawn when you still trying to kip. John
13. I have witnessed first hand how dangerous that spot can be. Was watching my mate Ollie fishing there a few years ago and I was taking a few photos. He had just reeled this kingie in and was walking back to me when a freak wave surged in. If he had not had cleated shoes on he would have been swept in. I made a mental note never to fish there !!!! Unfortunately we have many similar trageties like this back in the UK. The sea takes no prisoners. http:// http:// John
14. We had originally planned to hire a car and have a slow drive up the coast, sightseeing on the way and just spend a few days at Byron Bay. We have now decided to fly up and spend a full week there so will just be "footsoldiers" on this trip. We will be taking 2 light spinning rods with us and a selection of lures, weights, hooks etc. I was just after some general advice/tips on the fishing there. We are staying at an apartment on Lighthouse Road and are less than a 10 minute walk from Tallows Beach and Clarkes Beach. Have been told that fishing at the north end of Tallows Beach is worth a shot, bream, whiting and dart being plentiful. We fly up on 01 December and fly back 08 December. Is there a tackle shop in Byron or a petrol station that supplies fishing bait ? Thanks in advance John
15. Caught it this afternoon at Collaroy Beach on half a pilly. Some sort of trevally perhaps ? Thanks in advance http:// John
16. Arrived in sunny Sydney last night Had the oldest grandson down the beach here in Collaroy this morning, even dipped our feet in the sea. Just got a new mobile number for here so if anyone wants a bit fish with this wrinkley old pommie or even go for a few beers 0415664344 John
17. So looking forward to getting back to Australia on Thursday and seeing our daughter and grandsons Joshua and Theo again. Its been a 2 year gap. Joshua knows his grandad/grandma ok but Theo was just a baby when we left. Got 3 months to build up a bond though This photo was taken just before we left in 2013 http:// We will be missing our family here for 3 month when we leave. Watched grandson no 2 Lewis playing football this morning, after the game he ran over and said "going to miss you grandad",it was quite an emotional moment for this big soft pommie. This is me New Years Day 2015 with oldest grandsons Wayne and Lewis. http:// The heartbreaker will to be leaving youngest grandson Oscar !!!! Check him out here pinching my ozzie fishing hat. Everyone loves Oscar http:// Being a grandparent is a special thing, just love it. Be with you all on Thursday. Anyone in the Collaroy area want a bit fish with this old wrinkley pommie just shout up John
18. Is my mate Paikia on here ok ? Never seen a post from him for a while. Its Hank who lives Cronulla way. John
19. Great photo mate. Was boat fishing up the river at Port Douglas when I photographed this fellah on the bank. Did not fancy swimming with him ">http://http://s84.photobucket.com/user/snatcherphoto/media/snatcherphoto115/IMG_6152prc.jpg.html'> John
20. snatcher

Phobias!

Also not too keen on spiders/snakes !!!! So being a daft pommie was "playing" with this huntsman up the Hunter Valley back in 2012. How it did not bite me I do not know. Possibly my alcoholic breath may have stunned it Well it was the wifes birthday that day. ">http://http://s84.photobucket.com/user/snatcherphoto/media/snatcherphoto114/IMG_7250prc.jpg.html'> John
21. Will be touching down in Sydney next week and staying till early January, based at our daughters at Collaroy. Planning a trip up to Byron Bay in early December. Will be hiring a car and having a slow drive up,fishing and visiting places of interest on the way.
