  1. It does not matter how big a Barra is it will not survive a Sydney Winter in any body of water.
  2. Yes it is a Barra The poor little bloke will be alright for the next couple of months but as soon as the water starts to cool he will die a slow death. These people who put them in thinking they will have good luck are nothing more than uneducated fools I wonder if God is wishing good luck on them
  3. Awesome fish mate. I hope the fishing Gods shine on you for the rest of your life for letting her go.
  4. Found this pic on a overseas website. Amagine weighing in a bag of these bad boys in your next bream comp

  6. What sort of fishing are you wanting to do ?
  7. Report them to who ? It's a waste of time ringing fisheries in sydney.
  8. Hi All Went down to pier 2 early Sat morning for the first time and could not believe what I saw. The place looked like a tip. Empty beer bottles everywhere and the amount of empty bait plastic bags was unbelievable. The smell was just unbareable. I only stayed for ten minutes one group of guys had a bucket full of undersized bream and as I was leaving another guy obviously drunk was urinating on the building. Honestly felt ashamed to be a fisherman. Robbo
  9. I just saw an ad on tele where one of our fast food outlets is now selling deep sea dory fillet burgers. Who knows what a deep sea dory is ? And has anyone tried one ? It all smells a bit fishy to me
  10. I have rang fisheries at leasst 10 times in the last 5 years and every time I get an answering machine asking to leave my details. Not once did I ever hear back from them.
  11. Get the Tapatalk app
  12. Hi Rich You will really struggle to get a surface bite during the middle of the day Best daylight times are a couple of hours after sunrise and before sunset The best surface fishing for bass is at night time In some cases when the barometer is beaming on skinny water with overcast days and heaps of shaded areas from trees you will get a surface bite all day.
  13. Nice catch mate Sorry whiting are nice but not in the same league as coral trout IMO
  14. Way to go fellas Barra off the surface, couldn't think of anything else I would rather be doing. Hope you get a few more fish you deserve it after towing the boat that far. Nice sooty as well. So so jealous keep the reports coming
  15. Ha Ha Ha Classic I hope you are a good swimmer
  16. Hi mate I fished the dam a couple of weeks ago and we caught about a dozen fish for the morning. All fish were caught either on surface or spinner bait right down the back of the dam hard up against the steep edges. We fished it on a rising barometer and I see it was on a downhill slide while you fished it. Dam bass are finicky little things.
  17. Hi mate I have attached a shot of my HDS5 SS image of a school of eps. I'd say a school of bream would be pretty much the same. Hope this helps as your Elite 5dsi should be pretty much the same picture just not in colour
  18. You won't be sorry buying one of those Lowrance HDS units. Have a good look at the structure scan add on. Definatly the best piece of fishing equipment I have ever bought.
  19. Decided to head to Maroubra and soak a bait this morning for something different. Got down on the north end rocks about 9:00. It was low tide and only a little swell. Nothing happening after 10 min. And my short attention span decided to throw a squid jig on and straight away I was onto a nice green eye. Got these 3 within the next half hour and droped one about 3 times as big trying to lift it out of the water on 4lb leader. All fish now snap frozen for next kingie outing.
  20. Alarm went off at 2:30 met my brother at 3:00 and set off for the 2-1/2 hour trip down the highway from Syd. Arrived just as it was getting light and the plan was to paddle straight to the back of the dam and slowly work our way back. We started throwing surface lures and the hits came thick and fast. This dam is not known for it's big fish but they are really healthy looking and scrap well above their weight. After the surface bite died we started throwing smaller sized spinner baits. All up we caught about a dozen fish between us. Got back to the rat race just after lunch time. Working in an office in the city all week this is what I call my medicine. Regards Heath
  21. Definatly go braid mate if your using it for lure fishing. I would get 6lb for that reel which could be used for just about anything. Just adjust your leader to suit what you are fishing for. Good luck
  22. I'm sorry you lost all your gear mate but you have to get back on your horse. Classic report
