  1. Good on you for trying to let her go. That is a miracle that you got her on 6lb leader. Well done lads amazing fish
  2. G'day Stuart Like the new combo And nice flattie There are some big girls in KB They hang around the entrances to those canals waiting for the mullet to come out on the run out
  3. Hi PRED-ATOR Yeah mate that is part of the Woronora but it would be pure fresh up that far
  4. Hi Mate Nice report and some good size fish I love skinny water fishing Pictures 1,2,4 & 5 are definatly bass
  5. Hi Hawkesbass My boat is 4.35m and I can get right up to within about 50m from the wier/road at high tide. The last 500m gets a bit shallow at low tide and the last 100m has some massive boulders scattered around so I suggest you idle the last bit. Cheers Robbo
  6. Awesome report Basscatcher Money well spent, better than throwing your money away at the casino. Awesome pictures and fish, and on top of all that they were caught on the surface.
  7. G'day Basscatcher Most of the fish were caught on my ever faithful jaz zappa. Best value for money small stickbait on the market IMO. Regards Robbo
  8. With the warmer weather over the last couple of days and the barometer beaming I hit the upper reaches of the Woronora this morning to throw some surface lures around. The hits came thick and fast from first light and in no time I had the trifecta an ep bass and bream. Nothing of any size but it was made up for in numbers. Being a surface junkie it's all smiles from here on in.
  9. I am guessing you have an outboard motor. If so was it facing straight ?
  10. Nice fish mate and sounds like a gem of a spot. I reckon they are bass you have caught there.
  11. Mate you should definatly have a look at the lowrance hds5 with ss.
  12. I upgraded a couple of months ago to the HDS5 with SS and would highly recommend it. Here is a shot of a school of Ep's we found on the side scan. It just makes it to easy
  13. Not much for the wife to do in Seisa if she doesn't like fishing
  14. Lord Howe would be perfect but you would have to go in summer. The lagoon is unbelievable and the fishing is even better Regards Robbo
  15. They will not survive a Sydney winter anywhere
  16. Nice kingy Greg Nearly as good a result as your first day fishin for YFT
  17. Hi livo4life Yeah thats the breakwall, the white villas is the Hilton that's where I stayed. The fishing gear is the first thing I pack when I go on holidays. I did look at booking a blue water charter but decided not to after speaking to a few people whe had just been on a couple of them. I was just having so much fun fishing the creeks. I also caught heaps of cuda, trevs a couple of small giant herring I think which would have been fun on the fly rod and a few unidentifides. Cheers
  18. Hi All Just got back from a holiday thawing out in sunny Fiji. I was staying with my girlfriend and some friends but still managed to get a bit of fishing in. The first morning was spent casting big poppers, plastics and hard bodies off the breakwall for a donught. Next morning decided to grab the light gear and found some likeley looking creeks and rivers. It was not long before my little poppers were getting absolutely smashed by the most amazing looking mangrove jacks I have ever seen. They were not the biggest fish but the power of these little fish and the way they hit the lure really got the heart pumping. I did get busted off by a couple of bigger fish as I was only using 10lb braid and 16 lb leader on a 2500 size reel. Regards Robbo
  19. Hi All Just got back from fishing an old tin mine in Northern NSW just north of Glen Innes which has been stocked with murray cod. This was our second trip to this palce its on private property but you can pay to stay and fish there for the weekend. There are a total of 5 dams and you get a cabin right on the water with a little quintrex and an electric motor to fish the main dam with. The other 4 dams you just walk the banks. Its lure only and strictly catch and release. In 3 days we caught a total of 19 cod most were just pups but a few decent fish were landed. We fished really hard all weekend and you really have to work for your fish Any one who wants a bit more info on this place can PM me as I can not recomend this place enough Anyone who wants to catch a fish of a lifetime or catch a cod on a surface lure should get up there Regards Heath
  20. Nice lady friend caught and released in Kyle Bay ...pulled her out of 1m of water
  21. Awesome report poddy trapper Excellent photos and that trophy idea is gold Those bass are crackers
  22. Went in search of my first bass of the season with my brother early Sat morning The going was tough for the first couple of hours throwing various hard bodies and plastics at any likely looking snag. I thought I would give my favourite surface lure from last year a go. A Tiemco cicada. After about a dozen cast my brother says im kidding myself its way to early for surface lures in Sydney A couple of casts later I lob him into a really healthy snag let it sit there for a couple of seconds when I see my first bronzie come up from underneath it and have a good look. I gave the lure one little nudge and he climbed all over it. It took me a while to clear him from the snag but eventually got him clear and into the net. He went 35 to the fork. He was the only one we got but it doesnt get any better than that for your first fish of the season. The adrenalin stopped pumping about an hour later and after numerous ribbings about the to early comments to my brother we called it a day

  24. Thanks Stewy and everyone else I must admit that reading your recent reports on that place made us venture up there I fish the Georges alot but never up that far Your recent report on Lake Glenbawn has also inspired us to book a long weekend up there in a couple of weeks. If I catch half as many fish over the long weekend as you did in one of your sessions I will be a happy man Cheers Heath
