Nice squid Joe and Arch,
It’s a shame Arch cant play football as well as he fishes ……. Go Loko…..
Cheers Bob
You'll keep my friend!
But with the space my gut is taking up in the picture bob, i'll cover half the goals anyway. Could be an option for 09'
That is if I dont take up professional squiding.

hi guys,
i ripped into a few large sambo's last week. i throw em back as i dont reckon their much craic' on the plate.
my old man loves cooking them up in rich sauces, so he had the shits with me for throwing them back. guess i'm out of the Will, again!
i might track down some fish cake recipes, i think i've seen some on the cooking section.
anyway nice report KK.

Hey guys, just joined so not sure what im doing yet, hope this works. Went out off Newport Reef on 29.8.08, with my girl friend. Hit a huge bait school (like the ones you see in mags or tv). Turned out salmon were all over the place. Did a few drive bys with skirts and first hit was Em, she lost it at the boat, not happy. Anyway her rod went off anothe couple of times b4 us boys got any action. Cut a long story short, em ended up landing 3 salmon, me 1 and my mate 2.. All up though must have got 15 fish mainly loosing them at the boat. Great day out and Em got to test her pink ugly stick with a 60cm salmon ( loosing it at the boat) but our first time chucking into the school and feelng the strike and trolling through the school and hooking up!
Can`t seem to get photo on, can anyone help?? won`t attach 4 some reason
thanks Dan
Hey mate,
welcome aboard. I havnt posted a letter in ages, as work has kept me off the water.
I cant recall how many stories I have heard of the girls out doing the "all knowing lads".
There ar plenty of tips on the site, on how to post pictures.
Check in some of the other catagories, or use the search prompt on the home page.
The sambo's are great fun, the airobatics makes for a great photo if you can time it right.
See you on the water

Great sesh ceph.
I have been skimming stones with the missus, and have been unable to throw a line in.
although the boys took my boat out, and got into a few decent kings up to 85cm at a very poular local spot.
you may want to give the main harbour a go again.
well done anyway mate

What gear were you using?
I've been laughing at this for a while ceph. Love it.
Well done Mike!

Love to see some hard work pay off.

Mate reds like that in the harbour is rare.
But awsome none the less.
I'd throw it in for fish of the month.
well done
Arch
ps i just spent 10 minutes looking at the pic to try and work it out. Lazy or what!!

Top report Ceph,
Looked like a great day fishing wise.
I'll see you on the water. i'll just look for the yellow boat with buckling roda and general mayhem.

That is a great effort guys, especially on the light line.
and picking up a cobia of any size down this way, is a speacial treat. it's my dream fish, and i have never even seen one.
good stuff.

Once again mate, you have come through with the goods.
tough effort in the rough conditions, so well done.

Lads,
Thanks very much for all the advice, and I will follow it.
I was thinking of putting it in front of the Hand rail, closer to the drivers seat. There is room, and won't clutter the back of the boat.
Easy for the driver to winch it up if someone is on at the back. and not be in the way.
But as usual, the raider team has come through with all relevant info.
And NETIC, during my research I got to have another look at those three vids you had downrigging around the yellow marker in botany bay. Really got the juices flowing.
Thanks again everyone.

out the side on the angle is ok i have fitted one like that to my mates boat

it works fine have not had any problem with the rigger

what is the prob with going straight out the back? other than the obvious closness to the prop.

Lads,
I just bought a new scotty on the weekend.
It has about a 1and 1/2 boom, but I completely forgot about a hand rail that runns up the back of the transom and 3 feet from the stern of the boat on both sides.
I am just thinking of putting it diagonally out the back, or even straight out the back.
otherwise I need to mount it on something over a few inches high to get it over the hand rail and off to the side.
Anybody got a suggestion as to the pro's and cons of mounting it. I'm nervous about going out the back.
it's a stacer 525 2005 model.
I'll do a search on the site, but just wanted to her some fresh feedback.

great effort lads,
what was the hose at the back that got cut?
bit of a worry but it least it wasn't the fuel line!

I have been a bit slack in posting on the site for a few months.
But these underwayer antics crack me up every time.
There are some of the arseiest people in the country on this site.
great stuff, on getting the gear back.

Nice one boss!
keep it up, and watch yourself on the stones.

Just to throw my 'two bob' in!
I have found that sydney harbour after a big rain, is a fickle beast. It can put fish off there nromal habits, and make it harder to use techniques flicking soft plastics.
But then again, I have seen some raiders just this year pulling decent winter kings out of the brown murk, with servo pillies and prawns.
But yes, In my opinion it can put them off.

I'm a bit afraid of trying down near kurnell at the moment,
you never know what may come up out of the sand.

Awsome,
I work with one of the guys you went out with.
He is making me so jeolous with his early morning swaray's.
Top work.

PeterS,
Just a question, and I am not sure about all those places you mentioned.
But Isn't Jibbon south of Cronulla.
I am curious about wind direction. As you said Northerly, Doesn't the direction come from (where the wind is coming from, rather than going to)
As I said, I am unsure of all of this, but just wanted to check.
ps I like the wry smile on the sharks face.
