Only if you cast out very flat & leave your line slack. normally the angle of the rod being higher than the water would stop this. If you are using a large ball sinker than the sliding rig is not the go, use a dropper rig.

Only took a few pics & a measure as I wanted to get it back in the water. It was 2 heavy to hold out in front of me to Make it look bigger. Haha

You can have a swivel if you want to have rigs ready & stop line twisting & yes have the sinker sliding down onto the bait. Fluro carbon will give you better abrasion resistance & sinks which is helpful when you fish unweight They have some rigs listed on this site.

Hey Mate Fished a fair bit of the north of WA & jigs kill it if you are looking for another option. Not sure how the current is down where you are but if its over 2 knots in deeper water you are gonna need some lead. A rig I like to use for snapper is a 2 hook snelled rig with a whole pilly & a ball sinker that can be cast down current & allowed to sink slowly & if the kings turn up you can put a strip of squid on and let it flap in the current. Hi Raiders Having a look through the Fishraider records I can see that the lure caught king fish records is 131cm. I got this one over the long weekend on a jig in 30m of water which went 135cm. Do jigs count as lures ? Cheers

Running sinkers at more for shallow water when fishing a burly trail to assist the bait sinking. If you are just going to bottom bash then a paternoster or dropper rig with the sinker on the bottom is better & will present the bait off the bottom. How deep are you fishing & what for ?

I had to deal with people getting sea sick a lot with my last job showing them how to use there new boats & have found this works the best. Have 2 ginger tabs tablets the night before DONT DRINK ANY BOOZE. When you wake up have dry toast another ginger tab black coffee & lots of water. When on the boat fishing stand & stay at the back & try to make sure you are evenly sped on the boat so it stays level. DONT LOOK DOWN. Rig up the night before & learn easy knots that don't take long to tie up or take a few setups so when you are busted off you don't need to retie. When you start feeling crook start the engine and start moving or you will get worse. If you can go out a few times by yourself & see what works the best without the pressure of letting your mates down. Drink heaps of water not beer. Cheers

Hi Mate I just use a doubled over paper towel at the top infront of where you will seal it. Catches the juices before it can fowl up the seal. Cheers

I used to sell them a while back. They do sometimes need a master reset to sort them out but the main temp fault I use to encounter was the temp reading way to high. You can also check connections etc. & on the extreme off chance you have a spare transducer plug it in to check its not that. Been finding the Kings in weird places this year & live bait has been mainly useless. Been getting most of the fish over 65cm on Maria Shore trickers 30Gg jigs. There have been no solid kings out wide yet either.

Give the Daiwa Black & Gold a look. Its cheap & better suited or look out for a second hand Certate which with the 4.8 gear ratios are perfect for micro jigging. They come up for sale a lot on the Facebook page Tournament Fishing Buy & Sell Australia. I have the 2013 3000 & have taken it all around OZ landing fish 10kg plus and its still rock solid not one bit of play in the gears. Hope you find something soon.

Hey Mate. Bio is a great plastics real but the 6.2-1 rear ratio is pretty high for jigging & you main gears wont be getting a huge amount of bite so you could see play after a few moths of solid jigging. The saragosa has 6.2-1 & a deeper main gear so better suited to the job. The main body & gearing of the gosa is larger & less likely to flex while cranking under load but this makes it a fair bit heavier than the Bio. If you are just going to be using small flutter jigs for snapper Bio is fine but larger 30g plus jigs for Kings cranked up at high speed you will stuff it in no time. Cheers

If you are going to jig & you don't have a real with a full metal body your gonna be in trouble fast. You get way to much flex when cranking jigs even small ones. Be fine for plastics. Have a look at the Daiwa Black & Gold its around the same price point & is much better suited to jigging. The hitches are insurance. After extended fights with larger fish on light gear I do notice that the leader has slipped through some of the hitches .If you melt the tag of the leader down to form a bit of a plug this dose not happen as much. 20 hitches is overkill though.

They were Micro 2 weeks ago at Sydney north fad.

Got one out near broken bay wide 2 weeks ago hanging out in a school of slimies I was running a small jig through to pin for live bait.

Hi Raiders I have been fishing solo a lot these days with my friends either having kids or getting soft. Generally fish out of Roseville or Pittwater & nearly always outside. My boat is not huge (4.3M Topender) so would be looking for some one with half decent sea legs or someone who has a bigger boat & keen to fish. I generally fish plastics & jigs. Cheers

Hey Mate I was over at Coral bay fishing in June & I have also fished port hedland. Winter is much better heat and insect wise the heat will take its toll & you will be drained of all blood by miggies in summer If you fish the deeper water you will get solid red emperor Cobia sharks & a heap more. Reefs hold Spanish gts & sharks. You need solid gear as the fish pull hard & did I mention the sharks ! they are next level over there, just getting a fish to the boat is a miracle. I found jigs work best in 20m plus with bait just attaching sharks. Stick baits poppers plastics & metal for the shallower stuff. The water over there is really salty so bring real oil for your line rollers ( if not mag sealed) as they will seize up after a few outings. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Cheers

You can try. Probably better at slack tide. Can get a bit of traffic close to the bridge to anchor. You could tow the boat down and fish the Cooks river, some guys on this site kill it on the jews down there.
