  1. It was nice meeting you Krause. A good morning out even if the wind wasn't playing nicely at little manly. For those interested, we ended up moving to clontarf instead.  A few schools of large fish breaking the surface but nothing that could be tempted.

  2. Wow so 0530 is early. I don't know if I can load the yaks on top of a rav 4 in the dark withoufh annoying the neighbours. Is the start time negotiable or can I find out what you yak looks like and I can come out and find you. :). Will pm you my.mobile. little manly for me.

Are you the same Angela that I fished with you and your friend Richard at North Curly last year?

We ran into a celeb fisho (Alex B.) at the time?

    Brad

Hey Brad! Probably yes!!! I am the Asian chick who was there for the first time and got a card from Alex. Nice to meet you! Alex is pretty cool.and it looked like you had a proper lesson

  4. Hi there. I am interested in joining but it depends on location. Am not too keen on driving too far with the yaks on the roof. Keen to watch and learn as don't have a good technique as yet. Can always join another time if you guys go to chipping Norton. I am located north of the harbour bridge. Cheers Angela

  5. I have used crampons that go over my shoes. Handy when there is a bit of a walk required to get to the fishing location as they can slip on and off easily. And aren't as heavy as carrying around a pair of wet neoprene boots plus the fish to take home.... You can get them in Hiking stores

  6. Went for a late afternoon fish with NO BAIT! Flicked the plastics around and kept walking up the beach.  And YES, I GOT ME A BREAM!!!!! Followed by a grinner.  Both went back in. But happy days for me, as I've not managed to catch one so far - only a few bumps! Maybe I'll stick to these sps.....

  7. Plenty of Salmon along the coast to keep everyone busy (and happy) until the water and fishing improve

Always love catching salmon, very good sport fish

They give a good fight. Are ok to eat if bled and looked after. And the chooks really like salmon sashimi... the blood line and any leftovers that I can't finish [emoji41]
  8. Having heard reports if murky waters in the estuaries I decided to head to the beach to try my luck. Arrived to find exposed rocks where previously there was only sand - as we know, last weekend caused a lot of damage. I dont know how the sand will ever return.

Anyway, it was a productive session with 2 salmon landed, one lost, all on ganged pillies. The paternoster rig with beachworm didn't get touched. It was great to be out in the sun. Once the water starts clearing up, I will head back In to the estuaries and give the sps a go

    Cheers

    Angela

  9. This topic is perfect. I have worked out that I need an anchor for my yak. Now my experience with boats and anchors has been poor in so far as I have lost 2 sand anchors due to snags. And this has been even though the sounder didn't show any reefs or anything - must have dragged into it. So my first thought is not a sand anchor as trees fall all the time into estuaries... Keen to hear other views though
