  1. haarrrrr , i remember it like it was yesterday. . . 15 hours wide of the kiama canyons dragging lures for zeros except for a stripey on 24kg. bottom bashed for a feed, just cleaned everything down on dusk to ready to go tomorow condition when 2.3 NM from harbour. . snap , the starboard outrigger popped and dropped. 2- 3 seconds later the short when nuts. . . . Whilst i was getting strapped into the standup gear the drag slowly increased the comments like f this f'ng business from the captain, and the decky looking at the captain saying i've got a job to go to, referring to his kitchenhand job, the captain replying with you had better f'ng call in sick pretty soon then, there's no leader or double on that one. looks were passed like in the above photos between the two as the last light finished the deck lights were turned on a creedence c r tape was put in, just as the fish finished his first run. yep . . you can get it from the captain,. . you can get it from the crew you can get it workin a tiagra 50w,. . you can get it milking a cow matter of fact i've got it now

    Berly Trails

Good post, I think most people that cut a burley trail are just oblivious to what is going on, in my experience in these situations people are busy trying to get the best position for themselves and stumble around the stern of the burleying boats unaware of which way the current is running. They are easy to identify if you shake your fist at them and gesture to them to go around, they always wave back and continue straight into the trail. Sort of like boat ramp ettiquette if people don't read it or are told, hopefully by someone with patience or a friend, they just carry on unaware.
  8. Thanks Cameron, Thats a great help I wasn't sure if was a good Idea to use that sort of stuff on the engine, , Cheers mate

  11. As I put my hand through the side wall of my sun brittled livey tank I was thinking I must re-do my winch cable at some stage. All of a sudden I found myself with 2 hours free time so I cut back the rust and primed the trailer and then ripped off the top of the motor to give it a clean up and discovered . . rusty nuts. I got stuck into my nuts with a wire brush and was wondering is the best approach to clean and paint (is there a specific paint used on marine engines for heat and corrosion prevention - can you jimmy a tin of bathroom enamel) or will clean , kill rust and grease prevent further dammage, I prefer not to remove bolts going into the block, will the thread not exposed to air be RS. ? They will last until I have time to replace in the summer There is also some patches of corrosion which clean up easy, is there a product used on the alloy before painting or any household product that will do the job? The nearest marine shop or mechanic is miles away and I don't have time to piss about at the moment Don't know if this makes sense. Thank you The Rooster . . .
