Fisheries Research has tagged and released 30 odd bream into lake macquarie last weekend during the tenno bream and flathead classic, the fish have a small transmitter sewn into theirstomach cavity then sewn back up (the fish were euthanised during the short process then revived)as well all the fish have a small yellow tag inserted in the shoulder of the fish ,if caught please contact fisheries research with the number on the tag and please release the fish.Fisheries hope to be able to moniter the movements of these fish for about two years, allin all it was very interesting to be involved in this project and be part of it . Hi Guys ,I have got one that was fitted to a 115 johnson ,you can have it if you want to try it if it will fit your engine.Cheers Laurie

  7. Hi Guys i had 530 haines with a 115 johnson on a tinka trailer ,never had any problems launching the boat as a matter of fact i did not have to get my feet wet it slid off very easily , as for retrival i would simply drive the boat on without any diffuclty, as for towing on the freeway you would not even know the boat was there .C heers Laurie.

  8. Went out last night for the first time Hairtail fishing in JB how cold was it?

At last count here where 26 boats in the bay and when i awoke this morning there was me and 1 other didnt hear a thing once i was asleep

I ended up with 1 hairtail and 1 50 cm flathead

I dropped another 2 and had what i think about 7 more hits

They just pull down on the line ever so softly you have to be holding the rod at all times i think

Anyway i enjoyed it so much im going back this sat night

Hi Flat Out I think i was the other boat who stayed I was in the black Haines <karma> just about directly opposite you. Cheers Laurie

  9. Hi all, I was one of the 36 or so boats out there on sat night only managed four fish two keepers 1200 barely, the only thing i noticed different from the week before was the number of small baitfish around they were in plague proportion.the week earlier there was not one to be seen, i am wondering if it had any thing to do with the lack of hairtail.I was born and bred on the hawkesbury river and have not seen 26 fish come out j bay in the last 40 years, if you could pick up 2 or 3 you had a good night . Cheers Laurie
