Hi all , went up last might to try for a hairie,got a surprise 26 of the suckers ,kept 4 at about 1.2 mark most of the critters were about 8-900 long They are biting very timid and we had to work for them,it was a beautiful night for down there almost full moon ,no wind so it was not too cold.. A warning has been issued for dangerous seas this weekend,swells are expected to be around two meter plus with a 19 second delay between them, what they are saying is there could be no swells for several minutes then several could come through suddenly these strange conditions are being caused by cyclone Wilma which is up around Norfolk Island .Cheers Laurie, BE CAREFUL,

Had one on my Haines 530 classic ,damm near flipped the boat over twice , very suddenly only doing about 3800 rpm completely carm water, contacted haines they told me the same thing ,take the foil off,i still have it if you would like to try it,mine was fitted to a 115 johnson ocean pro. Hi all ,bream have 4 rows of scales above the lateral line whereas tarwine have 6 or seven rows of scales ,if you are unsure use the 25cm size limit, remember there is a $300 fine for undersize fish,hope this helps.Cheers Laurie.

Hi All, wes at the comp on the weekend overall they had 233 anglers fish with a total of 90 odd boats.Largest bream was caught by a junior boy at 39 cm, largest flattie came in in the last session on sunday measured just over 80 cm ,lots of flatties around the 60 to 70 mark the bream ranged from 28 to34 mark . I was on the measureing table both days and from what i saw nearly all the fish were returned to the water barring a few which were beyond release,not sure what happened with fish that were photo recorded on the boats wheather they were released or not , all in all a very well organised competion which i am sure nobody could complain about.
