  1. On this does anyone know stores that stock the bassday sugarpens im after a few for my bass and flats fishing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Depends on what sort of fish you're targeting. And how far up each system you're fishing. Shoalhaven and the hawkesbury both have great saltwater and fresh water options. As far as individual camping spots I'm not too sure. There are some good spots to camp around wisemans ferry and it can produce nice fish but not sure on the dogs. Other location hawkesbury region to camp bank side would be somewhere along the colo river. One of the best bass rivers in the state. Not too sure on the shoalhaven region camping wise sorry. 3. For me it's berkley scumdogs, Daiwa presso Rolling cranks, bloodworm and curl tail soft plastics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I don't know of any specific gar lures but your best bet is a stick bait of some sort, have you tried any jerk baits yet? also if they're feeding on the surface then sometimes its worth throwing out a clear pencil stick bait over 70mm. I've had good success with some jerk baits ripping them through schools of juevie dollies, when they weren't taking other forms of bait.
  5. Parra is still the best team in the comp! Some nice fish there and hey at least you get to fish, I haven't had the opportunity for two weeks now... yesterday was perfect too and the parentals roused on my brother and I and wouldn't let us go... I could sense yesterday going to be good too.... Them jackals look really good, remind me of the Daiwa press rollings cranks which are gun on bream and bass too just a larger model cause ethe pressos are tiny.
  6. I think its one of those systems thats really temperamental, hopefully it only picks up from here. The fish i have caught have all been above the 25 mark, so good fish are still out there.
  7. Too right about us young kids. I go fishing by myself most weekends and have turned down numerous parties and gathos for a few fish. Hahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The weather the last few weeks has really made the creeks hard to fish which is where I normally spend most of my time. They've really been shut down lately I feel and you've had to work for them. From 4 trips I've only managed 4 fish and dropped 3 since the start of the season. The weather is improving and the creeks are clearing out a lot more so stay optimistic this summer will be good. Also I'm pretty sure there was a large fish Kill in the Red Mills creek area so that may have affected sections although the furthest I fish is north richmond to yardamundi. Best session to date was a shut down bite about 2 weeks ago where I managed 1 and dropped a second with jig spins and atomic paddle tails, although my younger brother caught a small one on a grub rigged weedless.
  9. This is a joke right....just as I was starting to think everything was on the up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Out of curiosity how does cockle bay fish? I'll be at a family Xmas party on the weekend and would be landbased but cockle looks alright on google earth and it's the closest to family house. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. They're around I'm just finding it difficult getting right with the weather at the moment. This week is looking a lot better though....just as I'm going away for the weekend. A fish is a fish don't forget that. I'm super happy if I just score the one.
  12. For flatties I will probably get scrutinized here but normally using a rag for extra grip I'll grip them just behind the head with my thumb pressing on the spine. I generally don't have to do this as most I can release without using pressure like that but it really does help when you're bait bashing and there's a flatty going nuts in the bottom of the tinnie. Other fish I will hold in my hand supporting their stomach and fish like bass I'll generally hold them with my thumb in their mouth and my other hand supporting their belly. 13. Thanks shred, will just keep on heading out to work it out. What are your thoughts on how the creeks are fishing? In particular south creek as that's my main section. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I didn't try that colour. Was mainly using a black/red Colorado I had....repeat had. :/ after that I stuck to cheaper jig spins for a bit was cut from losing the SB.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yeah hoping I can get amongst them properly this season. I probably should've persevered with my Taylor made tiny nuggets. Where one section of my creek was really brown and you couldn't see more then half a foot the lower end was a little clearer but almost had a milky(chemical) colour to it which has me put off with my council not making the effort to clean up the river system. A lot of locals have been giving it to them, they only just removed some asbestos that had been dumped near another section that's been sitting there for two months or so now.... Sorry for rant... 16. Thanks for clearing that up. This weather is really confusing at the moment hard to pick a good time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Hey all, just wanted other raiders experience with fishing in muddy water for bass. I'm a lure guy and lately all this rain has made the visibility in all my local creeks like chocolate. This is my first real season of going out there as much as possible so I'm still learning. The last two trips in the past week have resulted in only one fish. The first section I fished, I hooked one but dropped him on the bank. Yesterday's trip a lot further down the creek system close to the main hawkesbury river system was clearer but only resulted in the one (on a weedless paddletail) I've gone through the Arsenal the last few days. Cranks, surface, weedless plastics and jig spins. I know colors and vibration are important in these conditions but it just hasn't seemed to work... Any help or thoughts appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Local tackle stores are best I got my $260 combo for $200 plus they threw in 126yd of 10lb platypus braid. Was cheering!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Am I right in saying that there's a large range of raiders available I was looking at them too when getting a bass combo but found I wanted something lighter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I'd say rod you're looking at something like a shimano raider or jungle stix, pflueger trion. I've got the jungle stix in a 1-3kg model and it's going pretty good I'm quite happy with it would recommend one of the longer and heavier models. Reel wise where do you start? Everyone has their preference of brands. Daiwa, shimano and Abu Garcia are what I'd sort through. I think it's easier to select a quality rod blank and from there match it to a reel. 21. Hey all, I don't know if this is in the right section but I was wondering if someone could explain to me why the barometer is reading so low at the moment (1013hPa) but it's about 41 here in western Sydney right now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Talking to the local guys at Windsor bait and tackle hawkesbury is fishing well at the moment. During the comp on the weekend quite a number of Jews were caught over 10kg and there were several 4 kg+ flatties caught in one weekend. Best bait is to get local hawkesbury squid and prawns any good tackle store will sell it fresh. Good luck make sure to put up a report Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Plan for Friday is to chase bass in south creek, hawkesbury region. Exact location I'm keeping quiet but if anyone wants to tag along pm me. I haven't decided what time yet but will most likely be morning through to midday. Creek may still be dirty from rain but got to make use of this weather while it lasts. Cheers. 24. Pretty much as mentioned above its a great fishery too and really does produce. I don't know if your brother is into bass fishing but walking along tight creeks with light gear and some lures is really awesome fun if the salt ain't firing. There is also the basin which can have some huge flathead around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Can see the clouds starting to roll in. Kicking myself yesterday for not going for a flick and I should've gone today as well..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
