  1. Thanks Savit, What other brands of peddle yaks are there out there I haven't been able to find anything other then the hobies. I'm more after a small yak under 3m for some tight work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hey all, Looking to buy a hobie mirage sport soon as I am wanting to upgrade to a higher quality yak now that I've done the hard yards in my SeaK lunar. This yak had served me well but it's time to donate to my younger brother so I can take him along with me and also get into some tighter bass water for myself. So I'm looking at a hobie mirage sport and was wondering what a) everyone thinks of this yak? and where would you recommend buying one in Sydney? I know you'd most likely have to pm this to me and admin delete if not allowed was just throwing out a feeler....
  3. Awesome job. You can only learn more with more sessions. Hardest part is figuring out when they're just sucking on it. Just feels like pulling through weed sometimes. Yet to land some good bream on lures. I always target mangroves and river banks on the run in tides. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. What I've been hearing from a mate that's been fishing the parra regularly is that if you can find them on the sounder then that's your best bet. He's been getting them mostly on blades( strikepro, feralcatts) and soft plastics. He noted to me that he was finding that by tea bagging the blades just under the boat when he got a fish following often proved successful too. Hope that helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm all for supporting it. But at the same time let's consider the food source that carp do provide to some of our native beasts. Also what effect will the virus have on wildlife that consume infected carp cause nature is a big cycle right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I've been speaking to a mate who said he was finding them around the piers in middle harbour up north shore way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hey all as mentioned in a previous thread I'm camping with the family at lake st Clair this coming weekend. Will be hitting it landbased or possibly with a kayak. What's the best way to fish st Clair land based? Fish the points, and weed beds? I'm use to walking skinny creeks so a lake of this size feels daunting but I'm determined to get some good fish this weekend. Has there been much of a surface bite lately? Been really slow surface wise in the hawkesbury I've found. I'm a bit of an aggressive fisher and try and work a real reaction bite out of fish as I normally am working dirty water. Is this the same go at St Clair? Cheers for any help. Super appreciated. Also if you know a certain stretch that produces best hit us a pm. I will try and get away from the crowds as much as possible as it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. He's not dead. The fire chick raises him from the dead and then he marches on winter fell. He needed to die for his nights watch reign to end. I still support the theory that he is the bastard son of the mad King, making him darnerys half brother. Where they raise an army together and take over westeros. So I might be a slight fan hahaha Vikings is awesome! Too many shrooms for Ragnar though ahaha hahhaa Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Looking at it online and google earth it definitely looks like a place I'd go to. It's in my personal list of places to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. It's booked, it's decided we are heading to lake st Clair. Cheers for all the help scratchie and JD. I'll keep flatrock on the radar. In saying that how has st Clair been fishing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. How far of a drive is this? I'm 18 my brother is 15 we go off wandering quite a bit. I don't know what mum and dad do. I've always preferred the isolated spots but that's just me thinking with a fish brain. Cheers for the help fellas
  12. Will shoot you a pm. Just never fished for trout before. Would have more luck chasing carp. That was my thoughts about Lyall... Also thought it's a bit early in the year and dry for trout in my limited knowledge.
  13. That was my first thought, but been ruled out as too far... Being narrowed to lake st Clair, newnes and lake Lyall. It's interesting seeing my parents take fishing into consideration now that my brother and I can't just chase wombats around for a weekend.
  14. Im home with the family till Monday and the plan was to leave Friday and spend two nights at wollondilly river station. This has fallen through due to being booked out for a while and a lack of organisation on my families part. We've done loads of camping over the years but now that my brother and I are hardcore fishos (well I am anyway) the fishing factor comes into play. Plan b with a. Being wollondilly is to go upper colo river as its only 40 minutes or so from home (Windsor/hawkesbury)...Sadly is also booked out for Saturday night.... Plan c is to head to lake st Clair but I'm less keen as I reckon this place will be cramped with skiers and I wouldn't be able to cover enough water to fish by land. Plan d. Is head lithgow way (newns/glow worm cave) which means no fishing other then Lyall but I'm not trout fisho and again I think a similar issue to st Clair. Any other ideas with good fishing oppurtunies? Parents not keen on anymore then a 2 and a half hour trip(with trailer and possibly kayak as well as two dogs). Basic amenities(toilet) preferred but not a big deal. I'm a bass fisho and since being home last Friday have gone out every day in the creeks. Cheers Raiders!
  15. It's very much an art that appears similar to fly fishing in ways. I've just been walking the banks and waiting till I see a carp rise or are digging. Have spooked them everytime but I've only had a few goes. Been told it's a matter of placing the lure in the fishes peripheral or drawing it across the face of them and just sitting it there and shake it. Hope you have some luck.
  16. Awesome job, great fun on light gear! Go to the effort and target them on the soft plastics. It has been a great challenge lately trying to get a few. Check out south creek bass club on YouTube the guy on that has heaps of videos of the carp he gets on soft plastics in skinny water. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Any bubbles you see bubbling up continously are from mining. Try fishing the system around north Richmond maybe. Try under the bridge there... It's a good holding point when they start to school up in the main systems. Kayak launching facilities are available too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yeah I've only just seen all the videos circulating social media though of it bubbling around Douglass park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Hey all, been a long time since I've been active here. More so just reading along since I'm over in NZ. I'll be back though on the 16th of April for 10 days and will obviously be getting out and into it as I'm itching for a flick. Any reports lately on the bass and river condition. I know all the gas bubbling up the top of the system from mining has no good the river up the last two months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Probably worth a flick, bass are starting to move back down out of the top of freshwater reaches. I don't really know of the locations you've mentioned being a hawkesbury guy but from what I've learnt any body of water that flows back to a river even if it's landlocked had potential fish in them. 22. Can't go wrong with a sienna but end of the day its a $60 reel. I explained to my local tackle store what I was looking at and what I already had budget was $200 at the time and was upgrading from a seinna/sonic pro combo. I ended be looked after immensely by my local store and walked out with a rod and reel plus braid for $200 but the rod and reel alone come to $260... That stores bought me for life. Go to your local store explain the situation and if they genuinely look after you then your in luck and make the most of it. The reel I got which was only $30 more then your budget is a gladiator psyborg there's not a lot out there on these reels but mines been amazing. I really bashed it around in the creeks and rivers bass fishing this season and it's been a very good reel for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Awesome report Paul!! Great to see you finally got the old guy onto a few. Also great to see your still enjoying. For every unsuccessful trip there'll be two or three successful ones as we found out that one time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. When it's muddy like it has been for long periods this season just hit the tail creeks. Creating large movement is best and so vibration is key. I also found hardbodies with a white body and red head are key in the mud. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I know just how big you are Paul.... Get anything over 3m and wide. You'll find with the fishing that a hobie will be helpful but you can always save some money and get a standard yak and then buy an electric motor for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
