  1. Just been down that way the past week. Plenty of squid around green patch(murrays beach) end of JB. They're mostly smaller though and best I found keeping the big ones and using the smaller for bait for kingies and snapper. There's still a few schools of kings around down there. We got a few rats the other day out on the banks. There's some bigger legal guys amongst these rats but you just have to jig for them. Hope you have a good time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I'll generally only use snap swivels when using crankbaits, vibes otherwise things like poppers, spinnerbaits, soft plastics I find all get affected I find in not just action but the feel I get back through the rod top. I think an important part of fishing with lures is having a good sensitive rod that allows accurate casting. For tying braid to leader I just do a double uni knot. Not the best out there but it's one of the simplest to do and give you strength at the same time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Went out Squiding at JB green patch side. Southerly was killing it there too but we still managed a good feed of squid. Good to see you managed a feed and a decent session even with poor conditions. That kingie would've given you a whole lotta curry! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I ended up having a flick about half an hour after I posted. First cast got me a 40cm flattie hahaha. A few casts later I hooked what I think was a solid tailor as it jumped and in a large silver flash threw the hook. Not much like after that was fishing dead low. Was trying a hop retrieve and also just a straight roll with a rip and burn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. What about using vibes? I've got an atomic vibe in my box and I just don't know how to use it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Nice report, get that phone into some rice it may just save it... Every trip you tend to lose something...lost my oakleys the other day...shattered that I couldn't find them. Great work getting the kids into some fish, I love taking my younger cousins fishing and watching them hold onto a "monster"! Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Sorry to hear about it I completely understand your pain there although I've never been busted off by a boat I've been kayaking several times and had trips ruined by waterskiers. I've even had idiots come flying back and forth in a creek that was barely big enough for there tinny. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Pretty much what yowie said plus the fact that nippers go on the hook easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Ah lures, lures and more lures...duh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Haha no very appreciative for that thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thank you I really don't though I'll take it. Having a buddy to go flicking in is all I was after. The more appreciation people have for these creeks and rivers the more we can hopefully lobby sections of gov to reduce the amount of pollution being pumped into them from these "water treatment plants". 12. Cheers for that. I'll keep that in mind, if they're not biting I'll just use cranks and drill through the sand for flatties. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Good job would of been trying conditions for sure. I'm happy with one fish anyday. Where abouts in the nepean were you fishing or is it a secret creek spot somewhere. I'm finding its all about the noise and vibration you put out. Fishing lures aggressively creates more vibration and will bring more attention from fish. Nothing beats a spinner bait or a chunky crank but I'm loving this mouse I got that has upwards facing hooks and you can cast it into anything and simply retrieve it as fast as possible. Definitely suggest adding it to your tackle box. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Heading down to fam this week for Chrissy and just wondering how the shoalhaven is fishing. I'll mostly be wading sand flats around the heads working weed lines and drop offs off for whiting, flatties and bream. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Here's part 2 of my account that leads on from paul, the man, P-Ziller himself's own report of yesterday arvo. Knowing there were bass in this section of the creek I had to go back there and better my score of just 1 from the day before. So after pimping up an old bmx I had lying around cause I wasn't walking there again, my brother (14) and I hit it up this arvo. Know normally my brother out fishes me by a long shot, he's just one of those people that doesn't have to try to get the fish and I put the hard yards in for a fish... Anyway get there around 5 hid the bikes in bush and bush bashed it to our target spot. Using jig spins like the day before we got in to it and it wasn't long before I'd hooked two fish of three casts. Was cheering...put the next two into a tree and then a hollow log that it wasn't coming back out of. Rigged up and walked over to my brother who was trying to make the most of my pit stop. One cast into the hole he just worked and I was on...even better then catching a fish was being able to catch it rub it in my brothers face. Very much worked out like this all arvo with 5 fish caught making it my best session this season and not to mention plenty of lures lost... Gonna upgrade leader to 12-15lb for this tight stuff. My philosophy "if you don't hook a tree or the bank every 10 casts then you just ain't fishing" Biggest fish went 33 to the fork but only one photo taken of a healthy 30cm fl I managed. Big thanks to Paul for coming yesterday was great company and good to watch him progress in skill throughout the session. I'm no bass whisperer just a kid trying my best to learn. Aaron at Windsor B+T is a bass whisperer that guy knows his bass and I've learnt so much just from talking to him. Highly suggest checking them out for anything bass related. 17. Haha that's the best write up ever! Very much summarizes our trip. Thanks for tagging along we will have to go again sometime. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Bonnies

Where are some good locations to target these guys. Never fished for them before but they sound like good fun on light gear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Get the local bait source in hawkesbury prawns or hawkesbury squid. That's seems to be pretty successful from what I've heard lately. If your good at catching prawns and squid then go for it otherwise the good tackle stores should stock it. Will send you a pm on one that's worth a visit for advice and Fresh bait. 20. I use a chop stick or something I can stick inbetween the spool and then hold between my feet. Run the line through the lowest guide and then use my hand to apply pressure to make sure it goes on tight. Not the best way compared to what others have mentioned but works for me. 21. Awesome report. Goodluck with future trips, mind you getting the kids into it just creates teenagers like me that spend all their money on fishing gear and lures hahaha. Oh well there are worse things to spend money on at our age. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Sorry we couldn't sort something out Paul, perhaps this weekend? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. As in walking along the bank yeah... Only ever kayak at north Richmond... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. So I managed to sneak in a quick fish for two hours in between birthday dinner and other shenanigans on the weekend. Yesterday arvo weather was a beaut and it felt promising. Was fishing a new section to me along south creek and it looked very promising. Sad part is I didn't hook a single bass but I think I needed more time to explore this section as there was loads of vertical timber in the middle and edges of the creek that just didn't get enough attention. I must've seen about 15 or so carp just cruising along the surface and actively feeding. They were horses too, 12 gauge pump action only thing that could take these. Also saw the occasional bass take on the surface so i was pretty frustrated as to not hooking anything. Did manage to jag a carp though I never landed him Ran into some other fishos doing the same as me and they said they weren't having much luck either. Lost my only feralcatt lure too which was annoying cause it was one of my favorites. Gonna explore it again next weekend anyone want to tag along? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Nothing beats a paddletail or grub. The atomic paddletail and zman grubz. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
