  2. Thanks Swordfisher! that is a useful tread for someone just picking it up. wow i never knew those fish were so bad. i had a couple in my fish-tank for years and there so placid that you can pick them up, but i never got stung so yeah dogged a bullet HAHA

i have not found them yet this year. i usually always get a couple chasing kings this time of the year. in saying that i have seen people with them Hakan
  4. waiting in anticipation for a reply! im keen to give it a go this year i just have no idea how to. except for some personal research online. Hakan
  5. don't really need much for jewfish of the beach they don't really take much line. first run about 50m, they will usually take another of about 20m, then come in like seaweed from exhaustion.
  6. Plenty around. Got pestered on sunday on the south coast
  7. from personal experience i find areas like this will produce more when there is no light just be shore to have your UV light on hand and always have the jigs glowing. i don't know if its my own voodoo but i can never consistently catch squid on a full moon
  8. there more offshore. ive run into them at long reef and the artificial reef. i am yet to find a consistent spot in the harbour
  9. This Saga is worthy of prime time on channel 10! Great catch and great read!!
  10. not sure i target them off the boat. im sure any rock ledge close to the heads will hold them. just be sure to have all your safety equipment with you. ive seen them get caught at Pier 2 and Clifton garden but it gets packed
  11. Am i just taking notice because i cant go fishing for the meantime or is the Kingi fishing really that good at the moment! i have seen so much 1m+ kingies being caught recently I have only been chasing them for the past 3 years but every year im finding the Fish are becoming bigger and more consistent Great Signs for the future! hopefully we wont have to go to NZ no more in the future Hakan
  12. great reels, only downside i can think of is the weight. other than that well worth the price tag
  13. would weed from freshwater work? i saw so much at the city next to the berangaroo project on a wall that has water leaking from it. on the wall it was the stringy stuff and on the floor there was the cabbage stuff
  14. going there by boat tomorrow night. ill let you know Hakan
  15. I was originally going to use that. But was not happy with the hightSent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  16. I have a large bung on the bottom Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  17. Just a update if anyone was intrested. The tank outperformed my expectations. Like i said only thing that needs modification is the lid. And ill go with boatarts idea(thanks mate). Unfortunately that was the only highlight of the night. Had approx 20 yellow tails and a freakishly large mullet swimming happily all night.(beginning to wonder if jewfish have become endangered at the hawkesbury system) Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  18. Not sure why you are so concerned about saving half a meter squared space on a unfishable area of the boat. I have no issues reaching the bait board while its installed aswell. The only thing im concidering changing is the lid to make it water tight Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  19. I had one in my fish tank that i caught a long time ago. Only had it for a week then re released it back as most of my fish that swam past it ended up like that yellowtail. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks for the responses guys. Regards to king of kings. I think you have the wrong Hakan. But i am working on getting his title lol. You can call me king of rats at the moment Regarding the tank i do realise its overkill especially concidering how long it took to fill it the other day. It was just a little DIY project to keep me out of trouble. And a trail an error process now. I wanted something tall enough i can just put the overflow straight out from the back without attaching it somewere. I have a strap to secure it and with the weight it does not move once strapped. The weight is a issue like everyone is mentioning but nothing that is really concerning. It will be great in rough sea with all the weight on the back i reckon anyway. And the jumpstarter is a great idea. Why couldn't i think of that haha Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  21. Hi guys my first post here and hopefully wont be my last [emoji3] . So on the weekend i found a little time to make myself a live bait tank for my boat. All the pumps and stuff were already on their from the previos owner i just needed the tank basically. So i head down to bunning and look for something that will be suitable (yes i know i can buy specific tanks for the job i just would rather spend the extra money on new fishing equipment) and to my supprise i found a 100l wheelie bin that fits the bill perfectly. Ill add photos for reference. So now to my real question. Should i be keeping my engine on while i run the pump for the tank while i am fishing. Or will it be okay to leave the engine off? Just dont want to go out on the weekend and be calling for rescue when i cant get the engine started due to a drained battery. So the rundown is i have something like a 700lph bilge pump. And the boat is running duel marine deep cycle batteries( the main one is a big one and the second is slighly smaller in size) Thanks in advanced And tight lines Hakan Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
