  1. Looking at the first pic you can start to realise why the Blackfish fight so hard for their size!!! Honestly have a look at size of that tail fin!
  2. Well done Ryder, it`s always good to change it up from time to time, it helps break the monotony and help realise there is other species besides the Blackfish :-)
  3. Nice catch mate, good to see Port Hacking still produces, I haven't fished it for years, must try it again one day soon.
  4. From what I hear this is a pretty regular thing on the Harbour Wharves and jetty`s, one of my mates works on the Harbour Ferry services. He tells me that all this rubbish left behind is growing in reports from the locals, ferry terminal users plus the use of Council rates to clean up the wharves and pontoons to make them presentable for the paying public whom use these services, from the sound of it, it will only be a matter of time before all public ferry terminals will be banned. Shame as I spent many years fishing off wharves around Sydney growing up as a child, will be a shame to lose this as it is great for kids to have fun and learn a few things about fishing with easy access in the Sydney area without waiting to go on holidays to wet a line. Regards DYMAN
  5. Poor thing, how did moggy loose it`s leg?
  6. Just wore boardies, my mate never said anything about lice!!! I think a phone call is required after I finish this post.
  7. Well done, always good to have a sacred spot away from all the Riff Raff.
  8. Well there you go!!!! You learn something new everyday, I never new you could eat them let alone fillet them, you must have the filleting skills of a Fugu chef.
  9. Well done on the catch lads!!!! Good to see they are still biting. Nice healthy looking fish too, bit of a shame there was no Black Trevally around :-)
  10. If I may add my two bobs worth as well, try the screws out on the hidden light brown slime compared to cleats, bet you can`t guess who is left standing? I`ve seen more slips and stacks over the years from the screws in shoes theory due to not being used in the correct surroundings, they work in most rock fishing surrounds, but not in all!!! especially on the lower ledges fished around the Eastern Suburbs, anyone who has fished these lower ledges will know of this brown film :-)
  11. As friends and myself that have fished it!!! we call it " Skidmark " for a good reason, if you want to get caught off guard and have a good scare!!! you have found the perfect spot. I have fished it twice, to "Spooky" for me, only for the locals this place.
  12. Not being rude, but he can`t be the most intelligent person to pick one of those up?
  13. Learnt that that one working on the W.A coast, always room for a general purpose rod so you don`t miss any opportunities.
  14. I have been very lucky, the blackfish bug is back though.
  15. I finished work early today at a job in the Eastern Suburbs and with the fishing gear still in the ute I went to one of my old spots I haven't fished for 10 years maybe even longer, from the first cast I was on and every cast after that was either a down, a dropped fish or one landed. Enjoying the luck I`m having at the moment and making the most of it as I know how the OL blackfish can just drop off overnight and I don't think there will be much fishing done over the w/end judging by the weather reports ( hope they've got it wrong ) so I`m glad I left the gear in the vehicle :-)
  16. Hi Howsy, Just curious about how deep you are fishing if you can see the Black Trevally? I have only ever caught them while rockfishing, I have caught plenty of Surgeons when I used to fish the Harbour but never a Black Trevally.
  17. Must have been the w/end for them, and good to see you're also looking after your Mum :-)
  18. We were standing waste deep in water and we each had a small landing net each, save arguments if someone is to slow with the net :-)
  19. Cleats made and fitted correctly are comfortable, more durable and have more grip than the booties or the clamp ons that wear out quicker than you pay for them, each to their own but a good set of cleats are the way to go.
  20. Top catch there mate, pretty hard to go past a feed of fresh Flatties.
  21. Always been addicted mate, just a long time between trips due to working interstate for quite a while.
  22. We couldn't find any weed mate so the secret weapon was cabbage off a rock platform, we get the longer stuff and tear it lightly down the centre then weave it on similar as you would do a weed bait under a float, used to do this years ago when the weed is scarce, all depends how hungry they're on the day too I suppose :-)
  23. Hi all, after yesterday my mate and myself decided for a more relaxed and a less hectic day of fishing so we headed to Narrabeen Lakes for bit of a fish, there was plenty around and was almost a down a cast for while until the tide was half in then they stopped biting. Took a quick happy snap of the fish and then they were all released to fight another day.
  24. No sign of drummer mate, would be nice if there was a couple around.
