Fished the river on Saturday. Recreationally only. Most of the fisho's had a quiet day. My offsider and I landed a few, however we pulled the plug when the wind came up around 11.am. Disappointing.

hehehe Back in the 70s (and before I got into fishing again) I used to live in the first property next to Jeffrey St Wharf (now a luxurious block of flats ...... back then a dingy old mansion that had been divided up into flats .....) and I would watch all the old fellas fishing along the wall there beneath the bridge!
Not sure I would eat anything I caught there now, tho - is it safe to eat stuff from there??
Roberta
NO WORRIES ROBERTA,
The fish are ok. There was a pod of dolphins swimming up there under the bridge the other day. A good sign. The biggest danger is the boaties out on the water. They will kill you quicker than eating the beautiful fish in Sydney Harbour.
Enjoy,

Spent a week at Durras Lakes many ,many, years ago. ( 50 ) with my parents and cousins. They were out spearing GROPER off the islands if I can remember. Lovely spot, and there were lots of roos around at the time as well. Will have to call in there some time in the future to reminisce.

what do you mean by using a toothbrush? thats interesting!
Chris,
I did not ask him that question, however I would say that it is his equivalent to our wire trace that we use. I fired enough questions at him about everything from politics to Irish immigration that fishing was not my priority at the time. At times I think I talk too much .
Cheers Bart
What they do with the carp they catch over there?
They have the same restrictions as us when it comes to them?
Cheers
Ben
Hi Ben,
He has a few Asian friends who jump at the prospect of eating carp. Obviously they enjoy eating them. No restrictions mentioned.

Whilst on holidays in the USA spotted a local fisho relaxing under a railway bridge in Boston USA. He was after the local catch ( carp). Spotted them as soon as he burleyed up and boy they were thick as.
Enjoyed my time over there but it was great to see the waters of Botany Bay as we flew in on Monday.

I think you have already summed it up. When in doubt. DON'T. SWR has lost its appeal for me. This year was the first in 10 that I have missed going there. Went south of SYDNEY and had a ball.AND CAUGHT PLENTY OF QUALITY FISH.

There will always be the mugs who are too lazy too S--T. I launched at Ermington yesterday and was disappointed at the amount of takeaway food containers etc left on the boat ramp and surrounds by those persons too lazy too S__T,
All it takes is a little effort and a minute of their time to walk to the bins that are nearby.I spent a few minutes of my own time putting some of their rubbish in the bins. Bye the way love the pics.
OH! AND THE DUNNIES WERE LOCKED THIS WEEKEND.
