  1. Bart good thinking. The fish must have shot thru in case they reduce the maximum sizes

    jewgaffer :D

I think you may be spot on there Jewgaffer. What with all the talk of rationalization etc. in the election campaign, our little friends from down below are very worried about that very fact. " DOWNSIZING"

  2. HI ROBERTA,

It is sad to see the old boys fade away. They are very special to me as I deal with a lot of his age on a daily basis. I have great conversations with them,be it fishing ,politics, football or life in general. We should treasure the elderly more, as I don't believe society is doing it enough today. Good on you Roberta. Kind Thoughts.

  3. G'day Handyman,

Welcome to Fishraider. We all have our opinions be that many, but as you will see this is a great site and most of us express our views fairly. Our members ages vary greatly and we are mostly passionate about our fishing. Those of us who prefer to send the big flatties back are thinking more about the future than the big feed. I myself, prefer the smaller fish for eating .On several occasions when I was your age I would catch and eat the Biggies. Not any more as I believe they have a job to do down below. But that is my opinion.

Once again welcome mate and hope to see many more posts from you.

  4. C'mon Roberta , :yahoo:

Cheer up,it could have been worse.Don't punish yourself. Maybe you are trying to do too much at once. Suggest you slow down a while ,go for a fish and relax.

Then go back and find that bloody disc in a hurry. Hope you find it. I am sure it will turn up.

    Cheers Bart :1fishing1:

  5. They were great days. Both the tackle shops were always flat out serving customers. I used to hire a boat at Humphrey's Boat Shed regularly and fish the Georges with the young brother.

  6. Hi Jewgaffer,

I am sure the idiots who are pointing the bow of their boats skyward believe it is a prerequisite to going to heaven. Not if I had my way though. Those bloody idiots can go to hell. Was on the Georges the day I saw a tinnie doing just that pointing skywards. Unfortunately for him he may have ended up in hell after landing on top of another boat. They get no sympathy from me when they don't think of others. I believe he was critically injured. No one else was involved.

  7. Depends on your skill level and tools and materials you have to work with as that seat look as though it is currently weldeld in. I have seen lots that aren't engineered well, some come from the factory, designed for light use but retrofits are often done by people without the skill , tools or knowledge. Hope it works out and ends up a safe boat that lasts. Not sure if the older models had floatation in the seat. I know a brand new boat will have a flat floor and storage etc but fishing 2 up with a simple removeable floor wouldn't be such a dissadvantage in that tinny and keep it cheap as wekk.

Floatation material is under seats in that model Quinnie Tinnie.

Query as to whether it would have a good balance with a walking floor?

  8. Great report Roberta, and boy you make us envious as to how much fishing time you get in.Good stuff.

How good is it when you have a float retriever at your fingertips. It is heartbraking when you sit their and watch helplessly as your favourite float goes on it's way.

Thinking about training my canine friend to fetch a float. Problem is, he would not give it back.

  9. Good to see the law out there earning a crust.Whether it be for their paypacket or topping up the government coiffers,as log as the idiots and the lairs are caught. At least hitting them in the pocket is one small way of getting the message across.

    Cheers Bart :1fishing1:

  10. G,day Marty,

I was up at The Entrance on Saturday and boy the In-Tide was really belting in. Yes as you said the water was very clear. Being close to a near King-Tide it was a pleasure to see the lake system receiving an injection of crystal clear water in volumes.

    Cheers BART. :1fishing1:

  11. Congratulations Tony, :1clap:

Looks as if you will be spending more time at home.Less Fishing eh. It will be worth it though. Later on you will have the excuse " Have to go fishing to feed the kids." Then the next " Ah the kids want to go fishing." It gets better the more you have.

    Excuses that is.

    Congrats BART :1fishing1:

  12. Let's hope the coppers can follow it up fully & nab the offenders & whack them behind bars! I bet they won't be laughing then! It is really no different to breaking into a premises & vandalising it. In the old days 'hacking' was considered a bit of a laugh - but not now! Too many government & banking institutions have been hacked at great cost to themselves & their customers.

I doubt if I will ever use internet banking - there is always someone out there with that little bit of extra knowledge trying to go one better!

Glad to see all is well except Buy & Sell losing out - let's hope it is now over!!

    Cheerio

    Roberta

    G'day Raiders

No worries about Internet Banking for me. My :wife: :wife:spent it all and I can't remember where I put my fishing money. Now did I have an Internet Account??

GREAT TO SEE FISHRAIDER UP AND RUNNING AGAIN. :1fishing1:
