IF ONLY THE BOSS KNEW THAT HIS WORKERS ARE STILL IN HOLIDAY MODE AND MORE INTERESTED IN WHAT IS GOING ON WITH FISHRAIDER MEMBERS.

SORRY BOSS THEY ARE ON THE INTERNET. HENCE THE FIGURES MENTIONED. SOME PEOPLE ARE LUCKY EH!

  2. theres some anger in you from time to time Ray :074:

I read an article in a very very old fishing mag that was basically centred around the same subject but it was in the early eighties.

Over the years we have cleaned up our act in regards to throwing stuff out of car windows and dumping crap on the side of highways. You would think that people who rely on a clean environment, like fishos, would have changed their ways by now. Going on your rant though onbviously not.

    Dave

    SORRY DAVE,

I BEG TO DIFFER. TODAY WE ARE SEEING AN INCREASED AMOUNT OF RUBBISH BEING THROWN OUT OF CAR WINDOWS. ADD THIS TO A LIST OF LITTER CAUSES.

    1. GARBAGE BINS PUT OUT FOR COLLECTION (OVERFILLED) ENDING UP IN OUR GUTTERS.

    2. COUNCIL CLEANUPS. (HOW MUCH RUBBISH CAN PEOPLE HAVE. WHAT A WASTE!!! ) CHECK IT OUT AFTER A BIG BLOW.

    3. DUMPED RUBBISH. ( HAVE YOU BEEN TO THE TIP LATELY. SEE HOW MUCH THEY ARE CHARGING.) BIG DOLLARS!!!

DAVE, I GO WALKING EVERY DAY AND I MUST SAY I AM DISGUSTED AS TO THE AMOUNT OF RUBBISH THAT IS BEING LEFT AROUND. HAVE YOU BEEN TO OUR BEACHES IN THE MORNINGS BEFORE COUNCIL CLEANS UP. SORRY BUT I HAVE TO SAY THIS BUT WE ARE DROWNING IN OUR OWN SHIT!!!!

WHAT YOU SEE ON OUR STREETS AND GUTTERS WILL MOST PROBABLY END UP IN OUR WATERWAYS.

IN GENERAL,IT IS NOT JUST THE FISHO' WHO IS TO BLAME.WE ARE ALL CONTRIBUTING IN SOME WAY.

  3. Jet Skis have equal rights to the waterways as other users. On accasion, there are a few that spoil it for everyone, but the reality is that there are just as many (and probably more) small and large boat owners that break the rules and do not have consideration for others. I was up at Swansea channel last week and there were approx 40 boats per hour breaking the 4 knot speed zones (3 in every 4 boats going past were breaking the 4 knot zone not far from the Waterways mooring/office) and I only saw one or possibly two Jet ski riders doing this. By all means if they are idiots then report them to the authorities, but there are many whingers out there that complain about Jet Skis even when they are riding within the rules. I think some of it comes down to jealousy. If you are anchored or drifting close to boat ramp, then expect to be sharing the water with Jet skis and other boats, just make sure they keep to the 30m/60m distance rules. For the record, I gave up riding jet skis several years ago.

GLAD TO SEE YOU SAW THE LIGHT,GIVING UP RIDING JET SKI'S. JEALOUSY,NOT HERE HOWEVER WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE RESPONSIBLE RIDING BY THEIR OWNERS.

  4. ONYA PETE.... THANKS FOR YOUR VALUABLE INPUT ON THESE SUBJECTS THAT GET US UPSET AT TIMES. I ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO END OF SCHOOL HOLIDAYS AND BEGINNING OF THE WORKING WEEK. HOORAY NOT AS MANY JET SKI'S OR PLEASURE BOATS OUT AND ABOUT. FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE TO PUT UP WITH IDIOTS WHILST ON THE WATER. LOVE TO FISH WITH PEACE AND QUIET.

  6. APPARENTLY THEY HAVE BEEN READING THE REPORTS ON FISHRAIDER ABOUT THE FISH BEING CAUGHT UP THERE.

AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR MOST OF THE LOCAL FISHO'S FISH FURTHER AFIELD.

I READ IN THE LOCAL CENTRAL COAST EXPRESS NEWSPAPER ABOUT SOME SMART ARSE PERSONS ( won't call em fisho,s ) THROWING SINKERS AT THE LOCAL LIFEGUARDS,WHO HAD BEEN HELPING SWIMMERS WHO HAD GOT INTO DIFFICULTY WHILST IN THE CHANNEL AT THE ENTRANCE.

WOULD NOT LIKE TO BE IN THE TRENCHES WITH THEM IN HARD TIMES.

  7. AGREE 100% WITH YOU PJ. THE MORE YOU CARE ABOUT THIS ISSUE, THE MORE IT HURTS, WHEN YOU COME ACROSS THIS VANDALISM. WHETHER IT IS RUBBISHING THE ENVIRONMENT OR NOT HEEDING OUR RULES ON FISH CATCH.

KEEP UP YOUR POSTS AND WRITING THOSE POEMS. IT ALL HELPS. MY PET HATE IS THE AMOUNT OF PLASTIC AND GLASS DRINK CONTAINERS THAT ARE DISCARDED ALL OVER THE PLACE . IT IS GETTING WORSE.

I BELIEVE IT IS TIME TO LOBBY GOVERNMENT ABOUT REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS ON ALL DRINK CONTAINERS ETC. THIS MAY HELP TO CUT DOWN THIS BLIGHT ON OUR BEAUTIFUL WATERWAYS ETC.

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE CAUGHT WITHOUT A CURRENT FISHING LICENCE. I HATE PAYING MY FEES AND SEEING SOMEONE GETTING OFF WITHOUT A CAUTION OR A FINE .

DOES NOT THE MONEY FROM OUR FISHING LICENCES HELP TOWARD EMPLOYING FISHING INSPECTORS.

    CHEERS BART. :1fishing1:

  8. WELL SAID PJ. FRAME THAT POEM, SOMEONE PUBLISH IT, THEN LICENCE IT TO FISHRAIDER AND LET US GET IT OUT ON THE STREET. SPREAD THE WORD TO THE GRUBS WHO ARE STUFFING UP OUR ENVIRONMENT. WE NEED TO SPREAD THE WORD. " PLEASE CARE FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT. IT NEEDS OUR CARE."

  9. Hi Warnie,

Half your luck mate going up to the Rocks for Xmas.Great spot, great fishing and I really enjoy it up there. However being at the grumpy old man stage ,I prefer to go up there when it is a quiet .Then I can enjoy my fishing more and keep my stress levels at an acceptable level. Hoping to catch up with NOISY next year up there.

    You have a good Xmas

    Cheers BART. :1fishing1:

  10. Hi Dave,

It would have been a great outing on that Billabong for Noels last fishing trip. Could not think of a better way to do so. Up there in the north it has a special feel, what with the abundance of bird wildlife and those huge crocs around you. Brings back fond memories for me.

    Cheers BART :1fishing1:
