  4. So many nice boats mentioned already, IMO from the research Ive done Formosa tomohawks are best value for money to get you offshore. In saying that there all overpriced including the Formosa. Interesting to see Noble plate boats will be exhibiting at the boat show, thought they went bust after moving the factory to China. Offshore Marine Master and Black Rhino in Queensland make a solid rig, worth a look. Also garaging is a factor for most. Formosa, Bar crusher accomodate for this off the shelf. Would love to see a fold down glass hard top model. Then you have to choose an outboard After a Lotto win id be cruising in an Extreme game king.
  5. Real nice fish. My bottom ship jig must be broken, never hooks anything like that Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  6. There a nice boat Scratchie. I suppose it doesn't really get that cold round your way to warrant hiding behind a windscreen anyhow. Be worth you getting down to the Syd boat show next week for a gander. Hopefully they will have a display model with the side entry opposed to the transom. On a side note I was told exhibitors are stung upwards of $60000 for floor space at the boat show, need to sell a few to cover costs.
  7. Is the 620 cab any bigger than the 580? Have fished out of the 580 center cab several times , if your crew have good manners its no problem, if not inconvenience and arguments might ensue traversing between cabin seats and rear deck. Pretty useless protection from wind and rain imo. The half cab hard top with anchor winch is on my Christmas list. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk

  9. That's awesome, would love to do a trip like that. Have to say I've never fished in budgie smugglers Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk

  11. Thanks for the tip Gordo.
  12. Morning all headed out of kiama yesterday mid morning to fish either side of the tide. Fished in close on broken ground for a grand total of 0. Nothing but rock cod, rays and pike. Water was cold at 17.5 and current was barely moving. Southerly shut us down around 3pm. Have heard unconfirmed reports of yellow fin out wide. On the plus side, caught a ray on my mates new Saltiga 4500 reel. Wow what a sweet reel it is, think my bank accounts going to take a $1000 hit soon.

  14. Afternoon all Headed out off shellharbour yesterday mid morning. Hung in close round the 20m mark. Plenty of surface activity with rat kings chasing gars. Rustled up two reds in the mid 50s and afew kings on light gear helped pass the time between reds. All fish taken on servo pillies. Afew whales about too, careful when your steaming in the boat. 15. Gday Recurve Headed out from port kembla yesterday, on the water at 5am. Fished the reefs at the 40m mark, current wasn't an issue. Water was a murky green color. Called it a day round noon with a few 40cm pinkies and a solid mowy. Agree its off the boil after the east coast low, most seem to be doing it tough. Some guys at the ramp had success at 80m, maybe the water is cleaner out wide. One things for sure its frigging cold before the sun shows itself.
  16. Gday all, is anybody using a Garmin 70DV plotter/sounder? The Fast and ultra scroll functions just don't seem to scroll the screen that fast. Not sure if somethings set incorrectly or if I'm expecting to much out of this model unit, as I have nothing to compare it to. I have just upgraded the software and am yet to test on the water. Any help/opinions appreciated.
  17. I've also snapped a gomoku black jig rod, just before first eye. Right where it would sit/rub on gunnel. Great rods but really need to be treated with care during storage, transit etc.
  18. Gday all, looking forward to contributing to a fantastic forum. It has been a wealth of knowledge and great source of entertainment for me. I reside in the Illawarra and usually fish offshore out of Port Kembla, Bellambi or Shellharbour ramps. Raymondo.
  19. Gday Bird, try around lake illawarra on the sand flats.
