  1. Yeah they were all great blokes.

i just had a mate with me both times.

they asked for life jackets I had 8 onboard (extras in case I see a boat in distress) ( even going down).

i had 3 floating dolphin torches, 3 spare batteries.

4 oars. 2 stainless buckets. 4 bilge pumps etc etc.

basically 2 to 4 times the legal requirements, ?

They even asked about fuel and start batteries

just renewed the main batteries 2 days before. ?

So basically if they know your on the ball they are ok.

But the boat 200 meters away from me got told to get off the water.

not sure of what was the problems they had.

    its a good feeling when everything's A-ok

  2. It's good that the guys are out there.

keeps the idiots off the water.

i got checked my last 2 trips, anchored up eastern side of capt cook bridge at midnight both times.

    They are good blokes.

  3. Use stainless steel rivets n spray with  Wd40 or smear with petrolium jelly.

alloy ones can brake within a year of corrosion.

    and the frame could collapse.

Be a bummer to have to pull it all apart and

    re-rivet it in a year or 2.

  4. If their not expensive below the water.

That way you won't get the blinding reflexion when you look over the side,

dont drill holes in your boat but sikaflex a piece of wood or alloy box tube on the back and mount the light to that.

  5. I even go to the extreme of if something I was selling at a bargain price if $100

and they send the $40 offer I say hows $130, then I change the price to $130 in the add and leave it like that, lol, ?

And then when they say ok I'll pay $100 I say too late it's $130 now , hahaha?

Having said all this I always put good prices on anything I sell.

and if something I want to buy is a good price I never question it or  lowball the seller! I just buy it.

if I want to buy something and I think it's too dear I don't even bother going to have a look.

  6. Best way to deal with those Tossers is=

if your selling something and its a great price for say $1000 and you get the offer of $500

is to say ok hows $1500 sound?

lol, I do it all the time.

it does their heads in , hahaha

I never hear back from the idiots?

I've been getting emails from the AMCS asking for money to send a droin out to spy on the trawler after the government stuck a $35,000 price tag on the footage they have of the trawlers (which could have been edited).

Only took a week and I got new emails saying they had raised $15000 which was more than enough to send a drone out there and get some footage...hopefully it sheds some light on the horrendous amount of damage they cause.

Any news or footage from  the drone yet?

  8. Id go 3-4 ft cut a long angle on the end do its easy to push into the sand.

as about 1 ft will get pushed into the sand to keep it stable.

being 3 ft sticking out means you won't need to bend over to pick up the rod or reel up slack line etc.

id start with 6 to 8 ft pipe and make 2 up.

so the angle that you cut only once makes for 2 holders of 3 to 4 ft each.

  9. Ohh you guys are talking about an anchor not a sea anchor?

i miss understood when reading the heading.

a sea anchor is something that floats just under the surface and slows the craft.

your after an anchor that hits the sea floor n grabs on.

    sorry my mistake.?

  11. You can just use a small plastic bucket.

me personally id tie it to the rear of the yack as long as not in wave areas.

otherwise you will be constantly casting into the wind.

that way you can always cast with the wind at your back for extra distance.

in a bit of a sea with wind or swell waves=  I'd tie it to front.
