  1. What does a good breaming rod with all the perks go for? Im in the market as ive thrashed my Procaster 3-4 times a week for almost three years! The old girl stil arcs up a treat but i made the initial mistake of buying a 2 piece....Any ideas?
  2. Dont worry, im drooling too Pete!
  3. WOW!!! How does that happen?
  4. Ive been wanting to get on the water for a long while (as most of my fishing is LB) and after much deliberation I decided to rent a 14 footer no matter what the cost and put out in pittwater on sat. My mate from the city and I were on the water around 8am, and after casting sp's and hb's into the many marinas with just a couple of small bream caught we decided to do some drifting. After 20mins of drifting (and without really knowing what i was doing), the rods started twitching......then one rod bent over then the second and third then the fourth. A quadruple hookup of snapper hit the deck. All were just under legal. We went back around for another drift or two or eight . We went on to get 2 tripple hookups and all up produced 28 snapper (7 legals), one sole and 2 really nice bream. All were caught on 4 lb braid. My mate also hit a great snapper at 43cm. These are my share of the legals.....
  5. Well done Pete, you cant go past those flattie fillets. As for the salmon, i was sp'ing for flatties at the entrance to the lake three weeks ago when much to my surprise a small school of sambos boiled infront of me, chasing what i think were herring. So there may be more than one surprise catch to come in the lake!

    Wtf Is This

I saw heaps of these and those big multicoloured puffers during a dive this morning off long reef. They seemed really curious and came right up to me. Cool to look at...but thats it.
  7. Im gonna guess thats the first time he's been between two chicks.....
  8. This should be interesting....
  9. I cant believe there were no takers for the spare spot Big Aussie Bob! I didnt pm you cos i thought 20 other guys would. If you want, next time PM me and you'll have a taker right away!
  10. Hmmmmmm, very strange indeed. Its a bit pre-historic lookin isnit?
  11. Thats what im taliking about!!!!!!!!
  12. Ive tried it and it worked. I put a 2000 ernos xt on a 12 foot 6 wrap schnider glas after a gear mix up. Not recommended but possible, i just found i had to keep weight to a minimum and be consious of the line capacity of the reel. Good luck Im gonna guess the sand and salt aint good for it either
  13. Im locked and loaded bud gimme a heads up when your gonna be out n about
  14. I remove the rings completely and replace them with the loop knott. I might be kidding myself but i feel it makes the hb look more natural. i.e. no lip piercing!
  15. yep it happens, i can have a laugh now but DAMN! I did hook a nice bream to settle the nerves, though it took some work getting around all those squid!!!
  16. They're strange buggers though, i was throwing sx 40's around after bream yesterday , and all i could get were squid ( all conveniently dropped just before land) one after the other. I replaced my hard bodie with a jig the same colour...no luck. Then i try green, pink, blue and white....no luck. So the sx 40 goes back on and first cast another squid Bad mood indeed!
  17. Ive found Dee Why to be the same Zenman, slow as a wet week! I have hit two nice jews this season at Narrabeen though (amongst all the whalers). Big holes always seem to be forming to the north and to the middle of the beach. There is alot of water movement but once you find the holes its GOLD! Cheers and good luck tomorrow, Bob
  18. Thumping kingie mate, couldn't ask for a better day on the water. You gotter love the excess squid too!
  19. Its easily accessed mate, i recommend parking at the end of beatty st, manly, and following the walking trail at the end. The spot is at M,12 map 197 of the ubd sydney gregorys. Although it looks great when you hit the water there isn't much action until you walk around to reef beach. There are nice live bait holes in the rocks too......Happy hunting
  20. Thanks a heap for the help . Do i just mention fishraiders for a discount or is there a secret handshake i should know about????
  21. Fishraiders, just a quick note to see if anybody knows where i can get my hands on some ecogear sx40's but more importantly some smiths lures. Ive checked 4 outlets on the northern beaches to no avail .....do any northern beaches fishraider sponsors stock them?????
  22. Nice work pete, thats a very productive session. There's something that draws me back to the lake also. Im not sure whether its the big lizards or the serenity
  23. Sorry to hear of the dropped Jew zenman, i landed <--that 1.12 meter long jewie on north narrabeen a month ago. It took a live yellowtail and gave me a thumping ride...i put in around 20 hours and it was definately worth the wait! Good luck on the hunt!
