  1. Just as the other said, I normally use a 8-12 lb fluro leader. Just depends on the size of fish ur targeting
  2. Nice post mate, good video. Those salmon are so much fun on light gear, hooked one a balmoral on friday while fishing for pike but gave a run and shook the hook out. Still so much fun tho just to feel the runs.
  3. Should have hit me up, I went to Clifton yesterday and got a leatherjacket, trevally and flounder, not to mention a heap of little dink snapper. Clifton is a really weird spot, there's some little secrets of fishing that place. Lots of fish there tho
  4. crackin trev mate. Must ave pulled like the clappers. Nice report mate.
  5. withs zmans u can just take a hook and loop the head over the eye of the jighead.
  6. u asked about snook previously right?. Used slim swimz for snook before. Work awesome.
  7. Zman Slim Swimz Berkley Gulp Jerk Shad Zman Curly Tail Grubz The Zman slim swimz lures are sooo good because of their unique action and small size, also they are indestructible. Only downside is no scent. The jerkshads are so good aswell, sometimes better than the slim swimz because of the scent. Caught everything u can think of on the slim swimz.
  8. A month ago i did a 2 hour soft plastics session at balmoral and had a really good result. 1 flatty 38, 4 snook, 1 taylor all on zman slim swims and gulp jerkshads. Used 1/16th nitro pro bream jig heads.
  9. yer ill send u a link in the pm. Not about red rock cod just a broad way of filleting and cutting fish for sashimi.
  10. Just wanna learn about fishing for larger fish on SPs such as kingfish, jewfish, mack tuna and salmon. I want to gather as much info as I can about this regarding the techniques, retrieves, types of spots, lures, setups, line class and anything else I should know. Thx guys in advance.
  11. Looks like a yellowfin, did u catch this is relatively fresh water?
  12. James the 3rd photo fish is a a silver trevally the pseudocaranx dentex, a type of jack. It has a series of scutes along the lateral line. Tastes really good raw or seared. Get massive but mostly around 30 cm depending on where u fish
  13. I wonder what the knocks were? Might be curious dink bream or taylor, gotta give ur spot a try.
  14. Damn, a flatter on a slice. Never seen it done before. Well done, now uv caught the lure fever
  15. So what's the deal with Alvey going out of bussiness?
  16. Just wandering about pumps. What brands and what lengths, had a lot of success with yabbies as bait but I don't own a pump, I borrowed one from a friend. Thx alot
  17. Have a had any success there yet? Only ever caught 1 carp outta there. Seen hundreds.
  18. What Rick's said is exactly right. Use what u have
  19. Don't worry mate, then rod and feel doesn't matter. A better rod will surely help but I still have my PB flathead caught on a 1m Kmart rod. It's the angler that matters.
  20. Yer well with the amount of people there who are fishing for their first time or fishing solely for a feed some beginners might be misinformed and think it's okay to keep dink bream. What really ticks me off is when I tell em to chuck it back they come up some reason and end up telling me off. In the end most fish go back but some get their buckets kicked in the drink. Defineately message me u go, got a few tricks up my sleeve I wanna pass around to people.
  21. Here's a pic of sum slimies I caught at Clifton which o later filleted and froze. Later used to catch two banjos and a bunch dink snapper, bream and tarwhine, but that's another story
