I would like to know and i am interested to know who hear on fish raider does Land Based Game, and when live baiting for Tuna Longtails, Yellowfin and cobia who prefer's to use off set hook's and who prefer's to use non off set hook's for the above mentioned species??

I am sure there is difference's between the 2, for someone who know's can you please explain the difference's between the 2 non off set and off set and what are the advantage's and dis-advantage's between non off set and off set??

all info and advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi,

I am interested and i would like to know who would prefer to spin with a threadline, and who would prefer to spin with a overhead off the rocks for Tuna both Longtails and Yellowfin and Spanish Mackerel??

has anyone switched over from spinning with a threadline to a overhead, for those who have is it best spinning off the rocks for the above mentioned species off all size's with a threadline or a overhead??

all info and advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  3. Hi,

I'm interested to know and to find out when you use braid for backing then add on your mono top shot, how much mono do you need, what or which one should you allway's set your drag to the braid backing or the mono top shot, my guess is the mono top shot, correct???

and if people do set there drag to the braid backing, is it like setting your drag for mono a third of the line's breaking strain or is it totally different with braid and having braid as backing, would it matter at all what you set your drag to being either the backing or the top shot???

all info, advice and tips greatly appreciated

    Thanks

  4. Go the Stella...know people who have both and many are unhappy with the Saltiga, I had to make the same decision some time back, I went out with Kelvin and had a good chat to him, He uses both reels alot...He rated the Stella above the Saltiga in that size, I also spoke to 3 charter operators who have use both and all of them said the Saltigas break down alot more often.....

I am not being rude, but i find the mentioning of the ( Saltiga's break down alot more often ) extremely weird and very hard to believe, but i think one of the thing's it come's down to is who prefer's which reel.

from what i know the Expedition is fully waterproof and sealed with a max drag of 30kg's the same as the Dogfight, I have and own 3 reel's= 1 4500, 1 Dogfight and 1 Expedition all Saltiga reel's and none of them have had any problem's at all which i have had them for a few years now and still going very strong. but with the Stella i think it is only the drag that is sealed or waterproofed and that is it.

so if you ask me, decide on what you want to get be it either Saltiga or Stella and get what reel you want to get. don't get me wrong though they are both good reel's and i would be asking to which one to go with which i did on another site, i made a decesion and went with what i wanted to get.

  5. great report and well done  , i have heard that small amberjack make for good eating, does anyone know what there eating quality is like in those size's, how would they compare to small samson fish of equal size which are good eating and taste good to??

  6. a nice samson there, well done. we get them off shore and up at the central coast jigging during winter time, not the big one's they get in Perth just small one's and the small one's make for good eating.

  7. a nice job, well done I all way's use a 2 hook rig when using live squid fishing on a boat or off the rock's. I do exactly what hookem said, 1 hook in the tail or the end of the squid and the other pinned right be hind the head. since i have been doing that, hook up everytime.
