  1. Very good for the back!! Have had some horrid runs home punching 35km into a howling nor Easter!!
  2. I still call it Sydney as I left from my home port of port Botany. So still Sydney to me.🤪
  3. Hi guys, headed south of Sydney for a red or 2 yest. Right at the death as we were about to pull up stumps this PB 72cm jumps on my nemesis gulp using 10lb braid. After a good fight and a scare from a mako we headed home with half a dozen reds. Floated strip baits out fished the plastics today. Great conditions for it as there was little drift.
  4. Congrats mate, healthy looking fish.
  5. Shame about your day but the peak can be on one day and not the next. Just have to try and try again. I have experienced mornings of no fish and arvos of non stop action. Current seems to of stopped at the moment. I was there last week and only managed a couple of rats but was running hard at the peak for a long time until 2 weeks ago. Good luck finding them next time. not sure what Noel is reading but no mention of deep dropping or yellowfin in your report or questions.
  6. Outstanding. 👏🏼 if that was not on a brag mat it would of been hard to believe. Great job.
  7. Ouch!!! I removed a set of trebles out of my brothers leg once after watching many YouTube clips. It is very handy to know when out at sea. Congrats on some nice fish.
  8. Thanks guys, all frigates are salted. Salmon and tailor are now smoked and in the fridge.
  9. Thanks guys, water inside bay was like coffee and out the heads was not much better. Lucky it was a high tide just after 7am which kept it as clean as possible.
  10. Long time stalker, first time reporting. Hi guys, John here. Head out the front of Botany Bay in search of a red or two but we were met with a 5-6km north south current and quickly gave up as we couldn’t get to the bottom in 40m of water. Returned into the bay for a small mixed bag until daylight broke. Trolled the headlands for 1 x salmon, 4 x bonnies, 7 x tailor and 10 x spotted macs. Home and hosed by 9am so not a bad fun little morning.
  11. You sound like you are on the right track Fergofisher. We look for temp breaks on websites like RipCharts on or over the shelf. The 0 altimetry line seems to be a good starting point. We run a mix of 3/4 skirts and 2 xraps or bibless minnows under the prop wash as close to boat as possible. I personally have caught more cubing but I like to troll until I find an area that I want to cube. I have caught them at all times of the day. Tide change seems to help. You have many questions but I hope it’s some help to you. Thanks John
