  1. Hi Reel Blue, "Without Prejudice" I purchased a new e-tec late last year, I also had issues with motor not being propped correctly and also had a few dramas with the dealer in regards to them supplying me with the correct prop & not to mention that the boat leaked like a sieve from engine mount which I resealed myself. After the dealers second failed attempt at propping my boat correctly I did some of my own research & came to the conclusion that I had to reduce prop size in order to reach an optimum performance level (5300-5500). On the advice given from BRP (Bruce) & Solace Props I then approached my dealer whom did not want to exchange my prop, after demanding the prop to be exchanged or for me to be reimbursed the value of the prop so I can buy the correct prop elsewhere they then agreed to swap props over but not return if I was not happy with the new prop. I can only tell you that the new prop worked spot on to say the least & I can also tell you that know matter how sincere a dealer may sound or willing to lend a hand you must remember that the bottom line is "MONEY" not good old fashioned service those dealers are extinct or just to hard to find. As I was once in your shoes I strongly suggest that you contact BRP Technical division and speak to Bruce & Bruce only & contact Solace Props gather your info & stand your ground with your dealer as I did. With no thanks to a very arrogant dealer I now enjoy excellent fuel & oil consumption from my e-tec the best of luck to you Reel Blue & if I can help you Please PM me.
  2. Great report, top catch, nothing beats a top day on the water with good company and lots of fish. I too had a top day mowing lawns.
  3. I have A Brooker 5.25 Discovery Plate boat with a Cuddy whilst it's my first boat I am happy with it, I have been caught about 20km out when the weather took A change for the worst, the boat seemed to handle it OK at an appropriate speed.
  4. G'day Mike, I have always been able to get live bait just to the right as you head East through the bar, on A good Summers day you will see A heap of boats fishing for their live baits there. Not to sure what is being caught at the Banks, but I can tell you I have an on site van at Shoalhaven Heads Tourist park and at the boat ramp there, I saw 5 YFT carcases from fish that I would say would have been about 25-30 kilos.
  5. You tell the story like it was only experienced A few days ago, an ever lasting memory I only pray never to experience such A nightmare. I'm sure your advise will not fall on deaf ears. Thanks.
  6. Looks like A good feed "Outdodad", certainly living up to your call sign great work.
  7. Sounds good to me, full day would be great.
  8. I HAVE USED A FEW METHODS OF THE ROCKS & FOUND FLOATING LIVE OR DEAD BAITS THE BEST AND MOST FUN. I USE PILCHARDS ON SMALL GANGS ABOUT 3.0'S THE SMALLER THE PILCHARD THE BETTER, USE ABOUT 1M OF 30-35LB MONO TRACE A SMALL GOOD QUALITY BARREL SWIVEL A SMALL BALL SINKER FOLLOWED BY A FLOAT RUNNING ABOUT 600MM TO 1M OF LINE FOLLOWED BY A SMALL GOOD QUALITY BARREL SWIVEL & THEN YOUR 30-35LB MONO AS MAIN LINE I AM NOT A BIG BRAID USER FROM THE ROCKS. THE SAME METHOD WORKS WELL WITH 2/3rds OF A PILCHARD ON A 4-5/0 AND HALF HITCH YOUR TRACE AROUND THE TAIL, WORKS GREAT. SOMETIMES LEAVING SLACK ON YOUR LINE, AS SWELL GOES UP & DOWN HELPS KEEP THE BAIT DOWN WITHOUT THE NEED FOR A SINKER ON YOUR TRACE. GOOD LUCK!
  9. Please add me, son Justin & buddy Joe; Thanks, hope the weather is kind!!
