  1. Thank you @Little_Flatty ! My last PB Bream was my oddly my first bream on lure 37cm.
  2. Thank you @Green Hornet Definitely a catch I wont forget and will be hard to beat ! Oddly enough I've noticed these slippery dogs have been more consistent then any other topwater lure I have been using at the moment.
  3. Thank you @Mike Sydney ! Definitely without his help with netting the fish I couldn't have done it myself she was a donkey. I have to thank @DerekD for his FG Knot tying skills it would have gave me a second thought if I tied my usual double uni knot against this beast.
  4. Thank you @DerekD the topwater guru ! I still have plenty to learn, hopefully these videos turn out the way I hope they do maybe to educate others on my findings and research as well.
  5. Glad you enjoyed the report @big Neil hopefully plenty more to come ! Maybe ill change my name shorter for forums for ease of use for other users ! The forums are the most welcoming community I've been in awhile and its great to share our love for fishing.
  6. Hi Raiders !, On the morning of February 22nd, 2024, amidst the gentle lapping of waves and the soft glow of the rising sun, I embarked on a fishing adventure that would etch itself into my memory for years to come. Armed with nothing but determination and my trusty fishing gear, I set out with one goal in mind: to practise topwater lure fishing and catch a fish on one. I carefully selected my spot along the serene waters of my local river system, a place known for its abundant fish population at times. With a keen eye for detail, I meticulously rigged my rod, selecting the perfect lure to entice the elusive prey lurking beneath the surface. As I arrived at the location I cast my line only within 30 minutes. I could tell today was gonna be a successful day, I remained steadfast in my pursuit, casting my line with precision and patience. With each gentle tug of the current, I felt a surge of anticipation, knowing that at any moment, my patience could be rewarded with the thrill of a catch. And then, it happened—a sudden jolt coursed through my fishing rod, sending a rush of adrenaline through my veins. With steady hands and unwavering focus, I skilfully reeled in my prize, inch by inch, until finally, breaking through the surface of the water, emerged the magnificent creature I had been waiting for, with the help of Brenden as he netted the fish we knew this fish was something to be completely in shock of. There it was, gleaming in the morning light—a bream of remarkable size, its iridescent scales shimmering in the sunlight. My heart raced with excitement as I carefully cradled the fish in my hands, marvelling at its sheer size and beauty. Measuring an impressive 46 centimetres, it was undoubtedly the biggest bream I have ever caught. With a sense of pride and accomplishment, I gently released the bream back into the water, watching as it disappeared beneath the surface, perhaps to be caught again by another lucky angler. As the day went on I couldn't help but smile, knowing that I had experienced a fishing adventure unlike any other. And though the memory of that epic catch would eventually fade, the thrill of the chase and the joy of reeling in my biggest fish would forever remain etched in my mind. I would like to thank @DerekD again without his knowledge and teachings I would have never plucked this beauty on topwater. 7. Hi Raiders !, The early morning sun was starting to rise over the tranquil waters of the local river system, casting an ethereal glow upon its surface. Brenden a fellow fishing friend and I had set out before dawn, our hearts set on catching bream, but our efforts thus far had been met with disappointment the past few weeks. As we stood on the bank, casting our lures in the water, I noticed a fellow fisher, as I broke through the silence. "Having any luck today?" As many fellow fishermen do, we both turned to @DerekD, a seasoned angler with a friendly smile and a twinkle in his eye. Introductions were made, and before we knew it, Derek had settled in beside us, his presence bringing a newfound sense of optimism to our endeavour. Over a few casts besides each other, he regaled us with tales of past fishing adventures and shared tips on how to improve our technique. When Derek pulled out a semi-clear coloured topwater lure from his tackle box, our interest was piqued. "Ever tried topwater lure fishing?" he asked, his eyes alight with excitement. Brenden shook his head, intrigued by the prospect. I however have used topwater before but never really got into it and wasn't any good. With patience and enthusiasm, Derek showed us how to work the lure, demonstrating the subtle movements needed to entice the elusive fish. "It's all about the presentation," he explained, his words laced with wisdom. Under Derek's watchful eye, Brenden and I tied the lures onto our lines and cast them out into the water. With each flick of the wrist, we felt a surge of anticipation, knowing that we were one step closer to unlocking the secrets of topwater fishing. For hours, we cast and retrieved our movements guided by Derek's expertise. With each passing moment, we grew more confident, more attuned to the rhythm of the water. We felt a sense of camaraderie wash over us—for Derek's generosity, for his willingness to share his knowledge, and for the bond that had formed between us. As the sun rose higher in the sky, casting a warm glow over the water, we knew that this day would be one we would never forget. And as we cast our lines once more, we did so with a newfound sense of confidence, knowing that we had Derek to thank for teaching us the art of topwater fishing and for showing us that sometimes, the greatest adventures begin with a simple hello. I would like to also mention helpful videos that Derek has posted on his channel that helped me work out how exactly how each lure is meant to work. Example :
  8. Hi Fellow Fishers, Long time lurker first time poster hope you enjoy ! Fishing is more than just a hobby; it's a way of life for many enthusiasts around the world. In this report, I will delve into my personal journey into the world of fishing, exploring the reasons behind my interest, the experiences gained, and the lessons learned along the way. Growing up, I was always drawn to the outdoors. Whether it was camping trips with my family or exploring local lakes and rivers, I developed a deep appreciation for nature and all its wonders. I was fortunate enough to grow up into a family that loved fishing and the outdoors. My interest in fishing was sparked by my family who took me on countless fishing trips as a youngster. I was immediately captivated by the tranquillity of sitting by the water, the excitement of feeling a tug on the line, and the thrill of reeling in my first catch. I remember the first bream I caught on lure in 2021 on a Storm WildEye Twitching Nipper coming in at 37cms from that moment on, I was hooked. (This soft plastic was long removed from the market if I recall and can no longer get the same in the pink so I've saved it all these years) After that initial experience, I began to immerse myself in the world of fishing. I spent countless hours researching different fishing techniques, studying local waterways, and learning about various fish species. I also sought guidance from experienced anglers, who generously shared their knowledge and expertise with me. One of the things I love most about fishing is the opportunity to explore new waters. Over the years, I've fished in lakes, rivers, and even the open sea. Each location offers its own unique challenges and rewards, from the serene tranquillity of urban river systems to the adrenaline-pumping action of deep-sea fishing. Fishing has taught me the value of patience and perseverance. It's not always about catching the biggest fish or the most fish; sometimes, it's simply about enjoying the experience and being present in the moment. There's a certain meditative quality to fishing that allows me to escape from the stresses of everyday life and reconnect with nature. As I've become more involved in fishing, I've also developed a deep sense of responsibility towards the environment. I strive to practise sustainable fishing techniques and always follow local regulations to help preserve our natural resources for future generations. My journey into the world of fishing has been nothing short of transformative. What started as a simple hobby has evolved into a lifelong passion that brings me joy, fulfilment, and a profound connection to the natural world. Whether I'm casting a line in a quiet river or battling a kingfish off the rocks in the open ocean, fishing will always hold a special place in my heart.
