  1. Yeah πŸ’―, don't ever think there no fish in there cause the water looks dirty, cause bass can survive in that stuff. And by the looks of it is flowing 2 which helps. Those bass I was catching are land locked 2 so they are pretty hardy fish. That is until a massive flood comes and washes them out of my creek
  2. The cormorants must be dumb round that area, I had one do a similar thing, and they are a pain to unhook. Is it best to cut the line or to remove the lure in its entirety? Also watch out for the tailor during the winter months they can inhale those expensive topwater lures
  3. This was the one I caught, very strange fish aye, safely released for me and the fish
  4. Yeah bream can also be a pain to handle I'm unsure, but someone could back me up on this but I'm pretty sure the spines contain a chemical called anticoagulant which acts as a blood thinner and the antidote is the mucous linning on the belly of the fish. Similar to a snake bite and it's antivenmon. A more senior member would be able to help with the proper explanation πŸ‘
  5. Another quality report @linewetter Heres my method of holding flathead, between the 2 rows of top fins Also if u do get spiked rub the wound on the belly of the flathead to help stop the bleeding
  6. Wow great job mate, definitely out fished us πŸ‘ 🀭 And thanks again for giving me a soft plastic to try πŸ‘
  7. Morning raidersπŸ‘‹ After fishing with @R E G I C Y C L E multiple times I realised that he had an competitive edge over me. Not in the ways you would expect but in the small banana shape lure which he throws. When fishing a sand flat or estuary, the go to method of fishing is usually the sensory topwater fishing method. For me it would be the sugar pen or similar walk the dog action styled lure and for @R E G I C Y C L E it would usually be the osp bent minnow. The bent minnow seamed to trigger the fish in a way that a sugar pen couldn't. Even working the same patches of water. So I decided I would take a home loan out and purchase one of these bent things πŸ˜‚πŸ€ The following day I hit up a marina which I hadn't fished before but i had previously walked past . I knew there where plenty of bream at this spot, because they could be seen cruising along the top of the water column and close into the shore. I decided to prove my theory. So I chucked on a sugar pen and began flicking it under boats. After about 5 minutes with no luck I decided to swap to my new weapon. First cast on a boat that i had already thrown at with the sugar pen and already I was being whacked. This particular fish took 3 goes to finally get hooked up. I couldn't believe it, a bream was quiet happy to hit a paused bent minnow 3 times but would even look at the sugar pen. Anyone ever had this ? Or does the bent minnow just trigger the inner hunter in the bream ? I guessing it just looks like a free meal. After no further luck at that marina I moved on to another. This time the bent minnow was ready and was my first choice of lure. First cast and boof, just like that a monster bream(guessing it was a 40cm fish) had smashed it on the pause. Unfortunately this bloke broke me off after about a 30 second fight 😒. I watched the fish swim off with 35 dollars in its mouth. I couldn't help my self so I purchased another bent minnow. I returned the next day to the same marina and cast in the same places that I was being whacked at the previous day. This proved unsuccessful, maybe due to a 40cm bream swimming round with his mates and showing them his new peircing πŸ˜‚ Anyway I moved to the edge of the marina and began casting away from the structure. I began seeing silver flashes which I assumed were bream. They turned out to be choppa tailor, 🫒 After landing one, I threw my lure out again and this time my luck ran out, snip there goes my second bent minnow πŸ₯² I don't know which is worse loosing a bent minnow to a choppa tailor or big bream. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows any cheaper alternatives of the bent minnow ? I am aware of a couple such as the bender and other cheap junkies. Anyone use any other that they would recommend? Something that dosent break the bank πŸ˜‚ Additional does anyone know any information on the Dr flex lures by fishcraft ? See images below πŸ‘‡ Tight lines 🎣🎣
  8. The simplest thing would be to buy either a tripod and chest mount suited to your phone, depending on the brand and model of phone. This is all relevant only if you know how to work the camera app and other phone apps for editing. As for the apps I am unsure as to which ones are user friendly. I'm my case, I use a gopro bought off gumtree for fairly cheap, your looking at upwards of 200 dollars. But good deals do come up. Be vigilant as to scams. Cash converters also sell them some time. But are usually overpriced. The gopro app is very easy to use and can be downloaded on a computer or pc Hope that helps πŸ‘
  9. Turns out these are cheaper and in my opinion just as good πŸ‘
  10. Cheers mate πŸ‘ Ah yeah was that flick with mick ?
  11. Follow up from my previous report Skinny water bass session. The following day I returned to my local creek as I couldn't resist those topwater eats any longer 🀀 I made it to the creek safely and began contemplating weather the old faithful baitjunkie frogs where getting tied on or maybe a cicada. I decided on the frogs. As i began tying the uni knot to the weedless hook, the deafening sounds of cicadas flapping their wings filled my eardrums. This reassured my decision. Off went the frog and on went the cicada. This was no ordinary cicada. I believe it to be a fairly decent design. Someone might be able to help my identify the name and brand of the lure after looking at the photo. Anyway the back story was that I had found it a few years back and it had just sat in the tackle box. The reason I wasn't able to identify this lure was its branding is in Japanese. Anyway let's get back to the report. First cast I plucked out a solid 30cm bass and immediately the confidence was boosted. By the time the session was out I had 6 low thirties bass on top. I pretty good result. Day 3 I returned for the 3rd day straight (totally hooked on the topwater boofs). This session was very slow, probably due to the heat. After multiple cast, I contemplated calling it a day. A small willow tree cast a small shadow over the still water. I landed the lure 30cm from the bank. Booooofff, the instant the cicada lure hit the water a bass has smashed it. After almost getting bricked, a 42cm fish was laying on my mat. A super solid fish for the water I was fishing and a dounut saver πŸ₯³
