  1. Hey Guys. A great update to this post and some storytelling We Got it Back. While we were at the ramp and went near the Toilet area and took a group photo, within a moment of a few minutes it was taken. There was only kids and teens there at that time, so I thought about it and managed to post a short video on TikTok and Instagram about the issue. Also managed to get in contact with the teens who were on the left pontoon on that afternoon to get to know if they saw anything. (I used to fish quite a lot around that area and knew quite a few teens who goes there often.) 5 days later on Wednesday, I finally got a "No Caller ID" call from someone... someone we knew quite well and visits our local tackle shop........ I will continue writing about this ASAP. Been busy with family recently as well.
  2. Hey guys, haven’t been active on the forum for a while but today I’ve got something important that I will really need help with. On Thursday This week (7 Dec), my mates headed out to Browns Mountain for deep sea jigging. We also brought along a Japanese fishing celebrity who came to visit Sydney from Japan, as well as video recording equipment to film the action. We launched from Davidson Park Boat Ramp in the Morning and everything went perfectly great until we came back and landed at the same ramp at around 4pm in the afternoon. There was four people on the boat in total, as we landed three of us went to our cars to get the trailer as well as to mount eskys and gear on the car. One stayed on the boat to guard and also lift stuff from the boat and put them on the pontoon. One of our tackle boxes were then possibly accidentally taken while we weren’t paying attention. It is a big mazume black bucket that looks very similar to this one below but fully black. FYI we were on a Merry Fisher 605. It has ——a Insta360 X3 with battery pack and charger inside a smaller mazume lure box ——Go Pro Hero 8 and mount ——Rode wireless go 2 with largo microphone inside a meiho waterproof case ——Mcombo Boat fishing Battery We are WILLING to pay HUGE REWARD to anyone might have accidentally picked it up or has information to their whereabouts, we don't mind even if we just get the memory cards from the cameras back 😭. Please DM me on fishraider or call me on 0452 166 863 and also feel free to ask any questions 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 We still have all the serial numbers of the cameras and microphone on boxes, they are relatively new.
  3. They are new lures that just came out a few days ago. Good on a boat in Queensland area for coral reef fish I've heard
  4. Hey rebel for the curl curl rocks, do you fish off the ledge near the pool or the southern end? Also, how big were the Bonnies there right now? Planning to go at weekend 🙏🏻
  5. They are actually inside already, quite early this season. I guess just not much of them in the harbour yet, were caught in 18 and 20 Jan around rocks nearby Balmoral FYI.
  6. They do. 10 per person per day and I do strictly follow the fisheries law don't worry
  7. charging right now 😏. I only take a few of them for myself, others goes to mates for shark baits and burley. I place diced Bonito in a bowl with. mayo sriracha, chives and lemon zest mix em up and spoon them on top of crispy rice and then add a slice of radish best eating. Or I do sashimi, bleed+ gut them and place them on ice after landing, then i pump the remaining blood in the bones and flesh out at home. Wrap it with kitchen paper and plastic wrap, and chuck it in the fridge (not frozen) . After 1-3 days i take it out and fillet it for sashimi, usually with sesame oil , chili oil, wasabi and soy dressing.
  8. Had a few morning sessions in Sydney harbour this week. Fished 4 different spots. Caught Bonnies everytime, found them to be most active and busting up at around 7am everytime. Usually they stay for 20-30 minute and just disappear totally. Gear used Daiwa Overthere + Stradic c5000xg / daiwa bg4000 lures: Dual monster shot 95 pilchard blue heavy shot 120 pilchard blue halco spin 20,30g chrome Palms dax Blue Pink maria duplex 80mm pink 25lb braid 20 leader
  9. What a session. Caught a russel snapper First cast in middle harbour and second cast this unknown fish. Looked up on internet appears to be called scat. Has anyone caught this before in Sydney ?
  10. seen those videos too but I have never fished at Walsh it’s too crowded in my opinion. I go to public wharfs like north Sydney Luna park cremorne neutral bay rose bay Watson for kings
  11. agreed. Landed 9 this morning under rain, all rats only one legal
  12. I haven't been successful on catching squid recently, tried a few spots only catching one or two before first light. So prawns are easier for me but thanks for the suggestion.
  13. thanks all. I'm trying to get live prawns for kings on wharfs, saw a few guys pull kings constantly in numbers on them on popular wharves. Tried lures but the kings just ignore them.
  14. Hey guys , does anyone know where to buy live prawns off North shore of Sydney harbour ? Don’t have the time to catch them in lakes and the entrance
  15. Are these squid jigs good? Saw a guy grab 10 of these in front of me
  16. I think its cuz nowadays too much people are prawning and also the trawlers, went to the entrance at night a while ago and 20+ people are prawning around the carpark and they are pulling ten kilos each, and now as i saw on social media they have gone to narrabeen and dee why lagoon to prawn. The huge amount of rain in 2022 might also be one of the reasons
  17. Thanks for the advice But I thought people used the cape and then cut them into strips for jewie and kingfish bait ? ( from what I saw on the internet) Also, how would u hook the heads and guts ?
  18. Our family loves eating fish so much, they have all gone into our stomaches now 😌. It was a great feed
  19. Can’t wait for it to get better!! Absolutely soaked yesterday
  20. Headed out to Little Manly with my pal early yesterday morning at around 7am despite of the rain and wind. Mate wanted to fish the last time before he go overseas for a vacation. Hooked up on a 45cm Trevally on first cast after burleying up, fought hard on 4lb line and spooked the trevally school away. Then we caught 2 breams and 2 leatherjackets and while netting the second one, we saw a few squids on the surface staring at the prawn heads we threw off. Quickly checked if we are in the North Harbour aquatic reserve or not, tied a squid jig and successfully got two up, and then the trevallies came back again so we got back into landing a few more. Mate hooked up on a possibly 50 plus trev, couldn't stop it from diving into the kelp and got smoked. Then there were no more trevallies, we fished for one more hour only catching one bream, one tarwhine and two ludericks. Wind began to blow heavier so we decided to pack up and get ourselves a decent breakfast nearby. The photo doesn't do the fish justice because of the resizing (to suit the web's requirement) The largest bream went 34cm and the tarwhine was 26cm. Kept all the fish in a fish keeper so they were healthy alive, quickly took a photo and released the breams, ludericks and took the others for sashimi and fillets. Should i keep the squid for future jewie bait or should I eat it? 😂
  21. Haha yeah, the shimano, daiwa and gama ones cost a fortune. I got mine from aliexpress, it only costs $180 including shipping and its only 160g whilst being 5m long
  22. I used a 5m telescopic rod, and then tied a 5m 3lb leader to the rod tip ( no reel) . On the leader around 3m above the hook I have 3 fixed tiny floating beads, with around 8 cm between each bead. They have a super small buoyancy close to the neutral point, and when garfish bites till the second bead sinks I set the hook. Hook is a tiny long shank hook i bought from overseas. Next time I fish for garfish i'll remember to take a picture of the whole rig.
