  1. Headed out on the larry lonsome this morning and was greated by horizontal rain and grey skys. Hit the ramp at 5.30 and with baits lures and rods sorted out I was ready to go. Briefly stopped of at clontarf for some live baits and a squid then headeded out to the wild blue, intersetingly there were a good amount of gars with the yakkas. As a few might know, me and Mark D had hit a honey hole a few weeks earlier. I had ago at the same hole the previous weekend and after hooking a couple of kings I was muscled out by some spearos, this time I had it all to myself. With four trolling rods out I did a pass over the special spot and immediatly two rods sung. Pulling out to sea I managed to manhandle a 65cm king to the boat using elphant gun tackle. I was not so lucky with the other one as it not only continued on its joruney to the hidden reef but proceded to tangle all the other lines. Lesson learnt - DONT BITE OF MORE THAN YOU CAN HANDLE BY YOURSELF. Only two lines were put back out with both me and the kings given even money odds with the lighter gear. Over the next couple of hours i landed 4 more great kings and dropped a whole heap more plus had fun jigging them and live baiting. It was a great chance to try different techniquies and experiment. The kings got bored after a few hours so I kept the next one for the table and thought of heading back in when the rod buckled over again. There was a lot of weight to the fish but I could feel it comming up for air and therefore assumed salmon but upon seeing my quarry relised id hooked a monster greenback that went 54cm. The fish was dispatched, another run started and quickly the rod buckled over again this fish was even bigger and after a ten minute fight a tailor of great propotions came in. Now Im not talking Shark bay great but impresive for Sydney going 66 to the fork. The day was puncuated by a smattering of Sergent Bakers and other odd balls. The kings and chopers made a great day out of a misreable one. Pretty hot fishing on a cold day. There are also big schools of greenbacks around nth Head so get out there boys, will post photos tomorrow

    Four Or Two Stroke

I had a 2stroke and now have a 4. Wished id had one sooner theres no comparison it became real clear on the weekend when we could quite happily idile round a bait ball we found yet as soon as some guy come up with his two stroke the fish sounded.
  7. Good work Ken the edgetracker looks fantastic
  8. Pete, I saw you at Balmoral (three guys in tghe southwind) and that boat looked like something that had travelled from Indonisia you had that many people on board. We hit the hole were me and Mark did so well last week and again the fish were there, on our first run we had a double hook up and then a pair of spearos muscled in and that was that . We also dropped a monster at the yellow marker after it wrapped us round the chain. Finished of with a couple of nice blue swimmers and some monster cowanyoung to save the day. Well done on the kings mate looks like you and dollface have the form for a kingy social.
  9. Great work lizard, hows the serenity
  10. Well done mate the first is always great many more to come eh!
  11. Thats right coach, gut them then lay them flat on their belly roll a bottle or a rolling pin down the back bone and the whole skelaton can be removed. Beautiful
  12. Thanks Mark, I swear your camara shrinks fish mate theres no way that Kingy looks like it would be nudging 70 but there you go, or is that one of the other ones we boated? Ken I reacon they could be twins those sambos I know mine dosent look like it but im confident that there would only be a whisker in it but you have a real horse there mate well done. Mark we will boat one soon I promise as long as we can get a hook into them we can catch em I also have a mate thats promised us a Jew session on the hawksbruy in a fortnite if your keen It will be a very interesting trip belive me.
  13. By the way I think that sambo would be very competitve on the sambo record I know from the middle of my chest to the middle of my thigh is at least 65cm next time Ill have to bring the tape.
  14. Thanks guys and thanks Mark for a great day, capatin we almost got you missed by a whisker, but Im happy with a7lb sambo and some great Kings and tiger flattie as always the photos dont do the fish justice the sambo just left the average fish found off the heads for dead and the tiger was a real solid fat fish. I also would like to mention that I nailed a pretty decent king that hasnt made the album but Ill let you bask in your king capture until next weekend mate. Thanks again mark for some great company and eletric fishing glad we finally nailed a good session after a last weeks effort.
  15. Yeah I though of doing that bill and the idea appeals but do I need a through hull transducer or can my transom mount be used in the same way as a through hull and how complicated is it to do? Thanks again for any help guys
  16. Yeeeahhh????? Not convinced but thanks for the help Bash.
  17. I reacon there a sight called fishnet for posts like this
  18. Yeah thats the next option but wont the sikaflex "Flex" just like a suction cup?
  19. Thanks Andrew Ill check em out.
  20. Thats cool guys but I am really reluctunt to screw anything into my transom after the last incident I had with my old boats transom giving way through rot. I beleive that it doesnt matter how good a job you do water will still find a way into the screw holes and eventuely rot out the transom. Is there a way to mount the transducer without drilling into the transom? I have tried liquid nails glued to the transom and then to a bit of nylon cutting board without sucsess, by the way the boat is fiberglass. Thanks for all the advice so far Cheers Phil
