Hey All, Planning a family fishing trip and will be taking my nephew and niece, we don't own a boat and so was wondering which of the two has the better land based fishing spots? I'm open to better options if there are! Cheers

Hey Everyone, Getting my feet wet (pun intended) with rock fishing but as I start to explore different areas I want to know if there are generally areas on the NSW coast that are too dangerous and should be avoided? Of course safety comes first when rock fishing.

Thanks for the heads up, don't have a boat just yet so building up a list of fish I can catch off the beach or rocks.

Hey Everyone! I've been trying to find a concrete answer on this but do people fish for gummy shark in NSW if so any general areas I should be looking into (beach fishing). Been reading that it's very popular in Victoria. Cheers.

@fakerthis setup is primarily going for bonito, kingfish and hopefully one day some tuna off the rocks so I have a 30lbs braid with a 50lb FC leader. Love the idea of trying out cheaper jigs, anything I should be looking at?

Hey Everyone, Been hearing a lot about Palm's Jigaro jigs for rock fishing and planning on purchasing one for the tackle box. What I'm trying to wrap my head around is what time of assist hooks and split rings I'd need for a setup - is there a general rule of thumb I should be following? Cheers

Hey Everyone, I'm so happy I found this place! I'll be moving permanently from Toronto, Canada to Sydney and have been fishing the Canadian lakes for over 20 years but never fished oceans so this is gonna be a fun challenge to undertake! I've purchased 3 different rods, one setup for your light - medium action, another for medium - heavy rock fishing and lastly a light setup for squid. If anyone has any tips or resources I should be checking out to learn more about how to find spots and techniques please let me know. Lastly if there are any Ice Hockey fans and wanna grab a beer to watch a game, hit me up!

Hey Everyone, I'm going to be moving from Canada to Sydney at the end of march and have been doing a lot of research on what I need to be targeting from April through Aug. Of course I'm used the Canadian fishing style so any suggestions/tips would be amazing. So far I've discovered April is great for Bonito and Kingfish but not sure for May through Aug, I do have both a light-medium setup as well as a medium-heavy setup. Lastly I'm a huge proponent of supporting local business so if there is any good tackle shops I should be going to in the Sydney area, please let me know (other than not allowed here rule 6/not allowed here rule 6) Cheers.
