  6. All the fish in my boat are hers (I mean B`s)even if B was asleep at the time! That way I`m allowed to go again and again!!
  7. BIAS boating has a pretty good range of do it yourself or complete units!! Its up tp you if you want it permanant or portable!!!
  8. Good point sqizzy never even thought of that and I have a set of nibblers and sheers at my feet as a reminder to take them tomorrow Only thing is nibblers are only going to cut sheet metal and not plate so check the thickness of material before you hire. P.S my father has an old friend by the same name could it be you? my father is Wal Ludwig??
  9. hI rob, You have two choices A jigsaw on low speed or an angle grinder as you said. You can now buy alluminium blades for angle grinders!! If you have a 4 inch grinder you can buy the blades from any bunnings. One little tip:- if you use the grinder put masking tape where you want to cut this will make it much easier to control the grinder leaving you with a much neater cut. good luck!! If you use a jigsaw on too higher speed the alluminium will start to melt against the blade and clog it up so you will know if your going to fast and with the grinder the paint will blister long before the alluminium will buckle so just keep your eye on it as you cut...
  10. J dont have a problem with this as I no longer go fishing!! I go boating and feed a few fish along the way! (who would have thought I`d become such an envirmentalist?) Anyone who has fished with me lately thats who!!!!!!!
  11. Hello Raiders. WoooooooHoooooooo its FRIDAY!! The has decided we should spend tomorrow night on the boat for an early morning dads day session??Well who am I to argue? No billy lids for the weekend so I should be able to actually do a bit more then bait hooks and untangle lines so I was thinkin bout spinning up a few salmon in Broken Bay.Haven`t heard to much of them recently and was wondering if anyone has seen or caught any lately? Also have only ever used a silver metal lure and although this has been fairly reliable I wouldn`t mind trying something a bit different so any suggestion or pics of alternatives would be greatly appreciated Thanks...

  15. HI MATE,I`m a chippie and I have put false floors in every tinnie I`ve had and thats bean a few. A few tips- 1-If you realy want you can use marine ply(very expensive (I have always used CD ply its much cheaper and is a water resistant ply and it will last a long time. 2-use a marine carpet over the top it looks geat and will not rot with salt 3-Depending on your boat use three different panels from seat to seat or bow to seat etc 4-in a smaller boat leave the space betweem the back seat and transom out you dont usually stand there and it lets you know if you have any water in the boat 5-Use treated pine for your bearers as they will not rot and are often in the water 6-Dont cut it in to tight ,timber swells and you want to be able to get them out easily at the end of the day when you want to clean the boat out. 7-when you take out your floor panel and hose them stand them on edge to dry as they will dry faster and better 8-I never use contact adhesive on the carpet as i found it blisters and traps water between the ply and the carpet which has now been sealed by the adhesive and although it wont rot the ply it starts to smell bad.Instead I use a construction advesive such as max bond or liguid nails and glue ariound the edges and zigzag through the middle.that way you dont seal the carpet and it can breath and dry a lot faster. hope this helps any probs pm me for a number and I`ll give you a call. Good Luck Brad...
  16. OK Ross you`ve done it now, it`s either prove the pics are fake or take the on a snpper charter! Guess since its your fault it better be your boat. Can you plse pm your fee`s to me and if it makes a difference we could organise mid-week. However its only fair to warn you that if you put her on to just 1 descent fish you will have a hard time shaking her! You see our first date was a fishing date and we caught a few and that was that! She was in love and I had a full time fishing companion (and lifetime partner she just reminded me. Who I love very much (you never know when she`s looking over your shoulder))Anyway you get the picture mate look forward to your reply Cheers Big Ears (aka Brad and Jen)

  20. Hi Raiders, Decided to get a cpl of hours in this afternoon so headed down to the boat at lunch time.Dropped my beloved 2hp evinrude of with Huey to see if he could revive the poor little thing then down to the boat ramp.By the time i inflated the tender and rowed out to the boat it was about 1.30 before we wet a line.Headed up towards Crosslands to do a drift back through the moorings for the last of the runout tide. The put on her trusty prawn and I loaded mine with a nice piece of chicken fillet. No bites so I decided to try my hand flicking some SP`s at some of the boats.Ah Ha second cast and I was on to something huge!!!! As the drifting tide pulled us further down river towards the ferry the beast that I had hooked refused to come with me.My only option was to walk around the boat to get to the bow and try to retieve a bit of line,But this monster was in no mood to play by the rules so seeing as it wouldnt come to me my only chance was to get the motor started and go to this aquatic giant of the river before he busted me off or even worse snap my rod.with a bit of expert low speed navigation I was finally getting some back on him!! Before I knew it I was right on top of him however there was no way this big fella was going to fit in my landing net so I decided to get him along side and release him without harm.He just seemed to sit still against the tide as I drifted away I saw something on his side but without my specs on I couldnt quite make it out so with Jen`s eyes being a lot better than mine I said to her what is that on his side???? Her reply?? MARINER 36!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Couple of runs and a few decent bites but no fish for dinner.Beautiful winters afternoon on the water! Cheers Bigears (aka Brad)
  21. Hi Roberta. As a young bloke I worked on the hawkesbury leases and that looks like a fish trap similar to one we used.Im pretty sure we were allowed to have a trap on each lease back then.As kids we used to love to see a few decimated trays when we got to a lease because we new we would get a good feed when we lifted the trap! We caught everything from mostly bream and your beloved blackis to crabs and even a small lobster once!So being as it was tied to the lease id say its the same thing. Cheers Brad... PS we didn`t even bait our trap back then (Ah the good old days when the HR was alive!!!!) Roberta
  22. Nice fish Chelsea and good to see you still let dad come even though he doesn`t catch anything!! You may as well let him clean them so he doesn`t feel left out!
  23. Hi jewgaffer, What is the goal of this post are you trying to compile info in order to come up with best times to fish?? Just not sure where we are going here mate?
