Hit the Bay this morning ,late start waited to see what the wind was going to do got on the water about 7/30 .A quick dash out to the heads to see if there were any salmon about there was a pretty stiff westerly blowing and about a 2 mt sloppy swell ,left over from the weekend ,could not see any birds working so I decided to go back into the bay and spin for flathead.Started over at Brighton but is was very slow couple of under sized fish and a squid tried a few spots along the front of Brighton and along side of runway BUGGER all ,moved over to Kurnell side of the Bay and got 2 fish in 10 minutes thought this is looking good but then it slowed down again ended up 2 more reasonable fish the 3 best went home for dinner the best fish went 60 cm, all in all a nice morning on the Bay [pictures also a old fishing boat must brocken its mooring in the big winds at the weekend]

Went for a spin in Botany Bay yesterday great morning no wind not to cold went up along Brighton beach near the Novotel it was slow my mate got 2 small fish and 1 keeper, I was yet to get a touch[no bait only S/Ps] I see he is using a dark lure so I changed to squidgi black Opal and 3/8 tt head , 2or 3 casts and I get hit but no hook up so stop my retreive nothing happens start to retreive again and bang solid hit and a big hard run ,can feel head shakes think it might be a small jew ,another run but I can feel it starting to slow ,pump it back to the boat couple of short runs and up it comes no jew but a verry nice flatty my mate Darby gets it with a great net shot ,the fish went 75cm and was in great condition .A quick pic and back she went ,the rest of the was slow seven fish caught 4 kept

Hi, I have had alloy and now have a Stinger 580 glass boat, finish is excellent , performance is great, the fitout is great, cost me 35K BMT - I have a Suzuki 70 x 4 stroke which gives 30 knots on flat water. Much quiter that my old Qunnie and I just love going fishing in a boat that works well and gets plenty of complements at the ramp. I looked at Poly, and for the money they are not bad, but come nowhere near a good glass boat for finish and presentation, although they cost less I felt that they were over priced by comparison. Stinger BoatsTake a look at the stinger site. Smithie
G/day Smithie looke like a great boat but ,a bit big foe me

Tim I have 475 quintrex with 70 Yamaha 2/stroke the hull weighs 440 kg and with a full fuel tank [90L] and it will do 35mph and troll at 600 RPMs all day a little rough at that speed I have no specs on fuel but seems ok ,I think if the boat you are looking at is similar a 60 might be a bit under powered .Hope this has been of some help

I own a 3 year old 475 ALLYCRAFT and I love my boat I use it fortnightly and I havn't bashed her around at all it lives in the garage and the car sleeps in the car port
As a fussy owner the one thing that seems to PISS me off with Alloy boats is the corrosion problems with the paint work under brackets or where the welds weren't cleaned at ther factory .And its not only mine with the problem Ive seen Quinny, Blue fins, Bar crusher also with the problem they drill holes in gunnels and then the paint corrodes sometimes I dont think they even etch prime them either
If the manufacturers Sica flex all brackets I would'nt have had half the problems with her Polly wouldn't have that problem for sure
Wet Patch I know what you mean I look after my quintrex like a baby it 2 years old and has eletrolises spots poping up everywhere and every time you bump something the bloody paint falls off ,why cant alloy boats have gunnell rubbers .I know that I am fussy but I have had glass boats that took a lot less looking after .Is it just me .might be old age catching up : :

Plan to hit Botany Bay saturday moring have not fished for 2 weeks starting to stress out

Just as a matter of intrerest and i am talking about boats in the 4.5 to 5.5 class e/g Quintrex Stacer Ally Craft Clark and so on centre consol, would you consider buying the same thing in glass .I know glass is weighty but alloy boats are geting heavier, and the old story you can knock alloy about and not worry about it. But when these boats are in 20 to 30000 grand price bracket I think you tend to look after them I know I do. I see boats like Poycraft creating a lot of intrest and look good. By the way my boat is a 475 Quintrex Legend and i love it but i think if it was in glass i might love it more. Am I dreaming P/S any body know of glass that fit the bill ????????????
