  1. Pelican, I'm interested, not sure if gps or not depending on the price, probably gps. Thanks mate, Jason
  2. So the consensus is Evinrude xd 100 is the best 2 stroke oil going around? Does the engine need to be tuned differently to use it? Sounds like the engine need to use less of this oil compared to others so needs to be adjusted accordingly? Have a V4 140 yamaha, planning to switch to the xd, drain the old oil and do all the stuff mentioned, it also due for a service so are there any adjustments i should get them to make? Cheers, Jason
  3. Is there a store with a range of this gear where I can go and kick some tyres? Jas.
  4. Thanks Robbie, GME seems to be a common brand, suprised to hear their not so good, will probably strike them off the list. Thanks for the heads up on the detachable faces and will look for something with a decent warranty. Cheers, Jas.
  5. G'day, I am looking to buy a cd player for my seafarer 5.5. Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. Don't need anything to flash, but something decent to keep me company when fish aren't, and may a little something for the ladies... Probably want a detachable face to slightly deter the thieves, and some sort of ipod jiggy as it seems that's what all the kids are using these days. Thats about it really, don't need anything thats going to rattle the fillings out. Where is the best place to mount the speakers? How complicated is instillation? Probably want to spend about three or four hundred bucks all up but obviously want to make that go as far as i can. Any recommendations greatly appreciated. Cheers, Jas.
  6. Thanks very much guys, Nice to not be left hangin' on nervous first post. I will stop worrying about it and start on something else. Huey the legs have gotten a bit stiff, just some spray lube or grease best to free them up? Great web site, have been on it for a while, first post down... uh oh have created a monster. Cheers, jas.
  7. Have recently purchased a boat, well half half with the old man. Its a 5.5m seafarer viking with a 140 yamaha, about 10 years old but in great shape. I am more than slightly in love with it. The advice I am after is about supporting the outboard while towing. The little swing legs used to stand it up don't really look up to the job, and I am worried they are going to crap themselves mid journey as it's a fair size engine. What would be the best way to prop it up for transport? The rear of the trailer is well under the stern so can't brace anything off that. Also should the rams go all the way down while towing? Thanks for any advice, the first of many questions no doubt... first boat. Cheers, Jas.
