  1. Nice job Pw... A very nice bream
  2. Nice fish Dan, well done mate. I was down there about 5 weeks ago and also caught my first trout.. I was using celtas , countdowns , tassie devils and fly and couldn't land a thing .. we caught 12 between us but all late arvo and early morning on power bait. Biggest went 46 and was a great fight, jumping etc--- still have a smile.. good to see you got your first and a very nice first at that.. also interested to see the lure. Cheers Evan
  3. I've never seen them in that close in the georges.. My parents live on lake macquarie and have seen dolpins out the front of there house in the last year, Since the netting has stopped its done wonders for the lake...
  4. 8 pound, he took a a good 200yds before i could turn the little buggers head, another 20mins of play and burgers all round!
  5. I gave the lady my number and asked if she could inform me of its progress, So hopefully find out soon enough... Have herd of a few people though that numbers are dropping. Would be sad to see them go, Always a pleasure seeing dolphins, peguins and seals on the water....
  6. What sort of fishing will you be doing? lure -- bait.. do you have an electric? I have a 3.75 aswell and as Iain said the headlands arn't out of the picture.. but the waterways has been out in force laterly and you need to have a v sheet and flares.
  7. Bagged my first fairy penguin on saturday, he went 29 to the beak, I spotted him in the shallow crept up and netted him in one clean swoop... as i have'nt seen any others on here i'm sure hes a recored!!! I saw the little battler in the shallows swiming in circles with his head down trying to dive. Theres been a few found dead up here, And after talking with the national parks they said that a few are in taronga at the moment with the same problem, hope they find out what it is. Always good to see the little tackers on the water. I took him home for a hour (weighed him in) before wires came to his rescue... A couple of picks...
  8. Have seen plenty of them around buttaba bay(lake macquarie)-- never thought to use them as bait.... give them a go... also keen to know how they do

  21. This might not be your 400 buck quality but i got pants and jacket in a zip up pack from a sports store for 40 bucks, Got them 1 size bigger and just wear warm stuff underneath--- does the trick for me and easy to keep on the boat in its water proof pack... and then you can go spend 360 another rod\reel.... Cheers Evan,

  24. After 5 hours in the car we finally arived at the lake it was about 8 oclock and freezing, We set up camp made a fire a few jd's later headed for bed. Up at around 6 in the morning we had a look around and realised that we had set up camp about 100m back from the water---Not where we had thought... We decided to hit the water and go for a troll flick a few lures and come back and move camp, We trolled for about 2 hours changing from tassie devils to countdowns to celtas with nothing, spoke to a couple of other boats and most had had no luck or one. we stop at a few points and just through some lures willy nilly with no luck getting thirsty we decided to head back move camp to the water and chuck a few power baits in, had 2 rods set while i played around will a powerbait wide eyed rippin shad, got 2 little hits but that was all. Was walking back up to start a fire when one of the bells on the rod went off i race back down and grab it--- my first trout , the buggers have quite a fight on them jumping out of the water peeling line. I was using basic bream rods 6 pound fireline with 4 pound trace, and it was loads of fun.... The fist one went 37, I caught another 5 after that biggest at 46.. Just before dark i tried the fly line but there was 2 much of that blue green algi stuff covering the water. Anyway had a ball would have like to have got one on lure-- or fly but theres always next time Cheers Evan, ps... thanks to all for the info... Some pics--
