  1. Gus, No joy - my friend is away on a business trip so I can't give you the latest goss. However, he fishes the Camden Haven River both up and downstream from the ramp at the pacific highway crossing near Rossglen. He catches more bass up towards Kendall while downstream towards the lake he boats more bream than bass. He has a productive bass spot on a feeder stream but I have forgotten the directions and its 4wd for sure. Probably best to forget it anyway after this rain. Maybe this isn't far enough north for you but I hope you get amongst them!
  2. Caught plenty of browns and rainbows in the Turon and its tributaries a few years ago. The drought has decimated the fish population and it will take a few good seasons to improve. You will still see some great river scenery though.
  3. Tyrone - can nonboaters attend? My tinny is crap! (Dont tell Clutch I said that!)

LW - bit of a disappointment last weekend but give it a go next year, hopefully the weather will be kinder to you. It's raining now as I write this!!!! Pedro - I live here at PS and my front door is 60 metres from the edge of the estuary. I can't be bothered going outside, so fish inside the port from a tinny that I hand trailer down to the water. I must be doing something right as I put plenty of decent fish back and keep sufficient to feed the family. It did take me a couple of years to get the hang of things though. Mostly target bream, lizards and jew.
  5. I will phone a friend up the coast and get back to you tomorrow. Do you have a 4wd?
  6. I don't like the nippers - around here the ecogear tanks outfish them especially on the flats.
  7. Clutch - this guy must own a tinny, right?
  8. OK - I will try the nippers again but this time with a lot more deadsticking!
  9. Guys - for a bit of a change I tried out squidgy flickbaits and storm nippers. IMO the flickbaits dont have as good an action as bass minnows and the nippers dont have much of a realistic movement at all. Has anyone used these and what do they think?
  10. Well done clutch - that is some fish even for a tinny brigade member!
  11. Clutch, I decided (being part of the tinny brigade) to lauch the Titanic today and chase some bream. Wind was a sou/wester about 10 knots and it played havoc with my drifting. Got some pike, squire, bream, a flounder and a couple of flathead. All were taken on poo eaters or bass minnows. Although the scenery is great around here, you definitely have the edge. Go the tinny brigade!
  12. Hey Clutch! Good report mate - love your tinny. Its bigger than mine but then, so is everyone elses!
  13. Go for 'em Joe - plenty happening here at the moment and you should do well. Hope the winds are kind to you!
  14. Ecogear tanks rule! One of my favourite lizard lures - schoolies don't mind a chew either.
  15. A few nice jew have also recently been taken from some of the ocean rocks up here at Port Stephens. I prefer the estuary scene but those I have been catching are less than five kilos. Until a few weeks ago the Hunter River was firing but it's been a bit quiet lately. Hope your trips to PS go well guys!
  16. Clutch - lousy spot, lousy boat, lousy weather - no wonder you didnt catch any fish!!!

Ankles, I live at the other (Tanilba Bay) end of the Port. Nelson Bay is too busy for my liking. Look forward to your pics of Frazer Park - used to fish there when I lived in Newcastle.
