  1. 80mm Squidgie Fish "Black & Gold", with 5 or 6gm jig & Sfactor.... thank me later.
  2. Spent the weekend at JB, but had too many to go fising on Sat... was going to try sunday arvo but the wind picked up.... I eyed out a few "fishy" looking spots, but didnt see many people fishing. Would it be worth towing my tinny down next time? Was reccommended to checkout the fish pond at "Lady Denman Maritime Museum" at Huskisson . OMG they had stocked the pond full of bream, snapper, blackfish, flatties, flounder etc... most bream were 45cm+ and many flatties looked like upto the magic 1m mark, some sitting in less than 1ft water ... I'd highly reccommend to check it out if you're ever down that way! I have iphone pics which will post up later....
  3. Nice breambo there! I've tried fishing near the bridge heaps of times on the way back to the ramp... never really caught anything there!
  4. Hi All; I'm heading down to Myola (South Coast) on the weekend. Has anyone has fished the Currumbene Creek, which runs off Jervis Bay, near Huskisson? Wondering if its worth bringing my plastics for a flick.... If not, can anyone suggest anywhere nearby worth trying for flatties? (Ps. i know there's a heap of Sancturary No Fish Zones around there.....) Cheers, Alex.
  5. LOL. You should have had more Weetbix for brekkie...
  6. Hi Mate. You will be at the upper limits of the towing capacity, but you car should tow it fine. Just give yourself more distance when stopping.... I used to tow a fully loaded 4.2 tinny (w/40hp, electric motor, batteries etc...) with a Mazda 3. Which has similar towing capacity as your cruze. It wasnt ideal with 3 people board and AC on - but did it okay. (I have upgraded to a commodore now though...) PS> 30hp might be small on a 4.6m???
  7. I dont know any second hand places.... but saw the plastic ones in the Bias Boating catalouge for about $45ea....
  8. Nice catch and well done for letting her go!... would have been a great fight on 4lb!
  9. Hi mate; could you keep us posted on how your set-up works on the 469 Nomad... I'm thinking about upgrading to that boat (or similar) and hoping to retain my 54lb set-up from my current boat..... Cheers. Al.
  10. Nice report! looking forward to hitting Pittwater over the next few months! ..... we usually fish Pittwater for flatties but might try to catch my first ever kingie this summer!
  11. Nice haul for an arvo session! Dont hear too many reports from Windang.... have you had much success there in the past? We fished there earlier this year (late summer) and scored some nice flatties... might head back there in couple months when the water warms up! i hear they even hold a flattie comp there???
  12. Love the whale photo! PS. What kinda boat is in the 1st pic? Looks like a great set-up for fishing plastics!
  13. Bout time you joined up dude! Ahh, "the one that got away!".....i doubt it was a monster flattie though, more like a mega toadfish! AK.
  14. depends on the kind of fishing you do... Ive got a 4.2 which is used to flick plastics and i'd say a centre console would get in the way on a boat that size, however bottom bashing with baits might not be too bad.... i'd go the side console. My next boat will be 4.5-4.8m with size console....
  15. Go for a 54lb motor min. - preferably bowmount/ foot control if you can afford it... check to see if you have enough room for the base plate & if the motor can clear the windscreen when locked up. Also budget accessories, like new deep cycle battery (say 100AH), battery box, good charger, wiring, adapters (if needed) & fuses etc. I've had mine since last Xmas & wouldn't go fishing again without it!
  16. you will definiely have to cut the rail... which shouldnt be too hard by the looks of it. Also, 54lb will be plenty on a 4m tinny... mines a 4.2 and the 54lb pulls fine fully loaded (incl. 3 people)!
  17. I've got an AGM battery as well for my 54lb Watersnake.... 100aH cost me about $350 from memory...
  18. i'd search / save for something a bit bigger with a motor.... otherwise find a friend or two who owns a boat! BTW... Do you have a car to tow or carry it?
  19. Nice report! My brother in-law has a cabin at Myola (other side of the creek)... this is the first report i've read from the creek! Will have to bring my tinny down next time!
  20. nice work.... we fished Windang a bit on good friday & Easter Sunday as well... landed a few small flattes & tailor (all released);
  21. ...mostly fine! 1 / 4 is better than nothing!!

  22. Will be staying in Wollongong for Easter - contemplating a day trip to JB at some stage over the weekend (the GF's brother owns cabin in Myola)..... Anyone know what the fishing is like near Myola / Callala Beach area?? (might take my tinny down...)
  23. Excellent work guys! 89cm flattie looks huge! I'm over the moon if i land any flattie over 65cm! (only happened a couple times in my life!)
  24. Hi Chris; Yep that would have been us.... white quintrex dory w/bow mount electric. We left the canopy at the hotel on Sat arvo & got drenched in the rain! We were flicking all types of plastics, but the best one would have been squidgy (fish) 80mm black gold... I think we landed atleast 50 flatties between us over the 2xdays.....
  25. Hi Mate. We were up there weekend before last. Scored a heap of flatties (all on SP's) mostly average around 45cms, best going 62cm which was released.. (PS. We were in a boat drifting / electric motor. There were heaps of people fishing landbased but didnt see anyone land anything decent all weekend ;-) )
