  1. +1 for C-Tek chargers; i've got the M100 and it does a good job charing my 100Ah
  2. Been chasing flatties on plastics for couple of years now... We normally use squidgies + Sfactor(as i cant stand the gulp juice smell!!)... best one by far is the black gold (70 or 80mm) and most recently grasshopper colour
  3. Try the drop offs & weedbeds east of the bridge for flatties. We were up there weekend before last & caught heaps of flatties on plastics. We used the electric motor to cover alot of ground and found east of the bridge area to be most productive...good luck
  4. 2006 Quintrex Dory with 2009 Commie SV6.
  5. +1 for the Penn Applause. I've got the 2000 series with 6'6 shimano and its perfect for flicking plastics.... i think i paid about $110.00 for the reel.
  6. Happy Friday arvo everyone!! Taking the boat upto The Entrance for the weekend with a couple mates.... hoping to test out the new bow mount electric (if the rain holds off!);
  7. Nice work! Had couple sessions a few weeks ago in Narra Lakes on SP's.... landed 5-6 each session, however all were only in the 40-45cm range.... (all released to get bigger!!!);
  8. Thanks for the PM's guys. Picked up the new Watersnake earlier this week and going to install everything over the weekend over a few At the end of the day, it ended up being a bit more expensive than originally budgeted (approx. $ 1550.00 so far); For people thinking about buying an electric, a few extra items that you need to consider are: - Quick release braket ($100.00); - Deep Cycle Battery (i paid $350 for 100AH) - Staged Charger - ($200-250) - Circuit breaker ($40) - Extra cabling & anderson plugs ($30) - Custom baseplate (i need to make something up because my bow is not flat!) - Plus any clips / battery box / screws etc.... - Six pack of Extra Drys ($ 16.00) Hope its worth it! Alex.
  9. Hi All, After much procrastination, I've finally decided to purchase a new 54lb Waternsake, bow mount electric. I have seen them for $699.00 and for $749.00; Does anyone know who else stocks them in Sydney? (I'd prefer to buy from a store - rather than e-bay or on-line); Oh yeah, this is my boat.... Quinny 4.2 dory, with 40Hp Mariner.... If you see us in the Harbour/Pittwatter, please come say hi! Cheers, Alex.
  10. slightly off topic, but you may want to double check the towing capacity to be sure. I used to have a '07 Mazda3 (similar vehicle to the lancer) and its towing capacity was only 550kg unbraked..... i'd say the lancer would be close to that also... http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/...del_name=LANCER Good luck boat shopping.... Alex.
  11. Hi. We caught most of the flatties on "Squiggie - Black/Gold"..... the 7-8cm long ones...... I'm definietly hooked on plastics now!... I had only previously caught 1x fish on SP..... on Sunday alone i managed about 15x (including the undersized ones)........ not to mention a heap of lost hook-ups! ... bought some more SP's during the week so cant wait for next time!!
  12. Hi.... we took the boat out on Saturday and Sunday as well.... between the three of us, we landed over 20x legal size flatties. All were caught on soft plastics (except about four on prawns)!!!
