    Our New Boat

We have just picked up our new boat its a brooker 4.35 metre runabout.small enough so i can handle it by my self.Got it at the Rosehill boat show.
  4. I also hit the bay yesterday wow what a great day,i used prawns, nippers and blood worms very quite.only 1 blue swimmer crab and 1 whiting plus so small flathead which went back.
  5. Made plans with dad to go out in my new boat for a fish at botany bay,Yes i know the weather was crap but its a new boat and dad and i have not been out fishing togeather for years.Rained all the way down the M5 untill we got to cooks river, all the way i am thinking we are mad.Put the boat in and the rain stopped, went out into the bay it was like some of the rides at the easter show. did not go out to far glad to see we were not the only fools out their.dad had a great time and it was good to spend time with him. We did catch some fish no recoards but 6 fish landed 1-shovelnose shark, 1string ray, 1red bream 1 whiting, 1 flounder and 1 small tailor. Put the tailor out as live bait, after a while it went crazy when i checked the bait only the head was left with 1 large semi circle bite anyway had i good time and no rain.
  6. thanks for that i will have a look up there maybe friday or saturday.
  7. Dear Raiders has anybody tried catching mud crabs in the georges river?I was thinking about trying around salt pan creek and picnic point. just back from queensland and had a ball catching them.In QLD you can have 4 traps per person and only 1 in NSW also you can use cast nets to collect bait which saves heaps of money sadly in NSW you can purchase them but not use them. It sucks.
  8. After many years of a good mate sending me photos of all the big fish he catches on the reef off Townsville,The wife and i headed off for a long weekend to catch up and hopefully go out for a fish. We were greeted by 20-30 knot winds which made it impossible to go out.So we headed for the mangrove creeks to do a spot of crabing. Its a worry when you put the boat in and the signs read beware of the crocs. We kept 3 crabs put 8 back due to the size or being female, very strict rules and everybody obeys if you get caught with under size or females they confirscate all your gear including the boat car and trailer. Only managed a small mangrove Jack never caught one before so it was great. had a great weekend hope to get back up their soon and maybe go after a big one.
  9. Nice catch Adam. hope to get out with you soon so you can show off the new boat.
  10. Set out this morning to test our new boat and do a spot of fishing.Put the boat in at cooks river and went out into the botany bay.We could not loose a bait tried all over the bay. Before we set out i told my wife that the first fish we catch is going back.I did a deal with the fish gods,i was so pleased to see a small port jackson shark come aboard.I was praying we did not hook up a king or jew first up.The boat went great and we had a nice day on the water. We had limited time today but hopfully the fish gods will smile apon us next time we go out
