  1. Hi I'm looking to update my 140 Suzuki on my Seafarer Viking. I'm thinking of 3 options 150 4 stroke Merc, 150 etec and 140 suzuki. My current suzuki has 280 hours and 6 months left on warranty so I figure now is best time to trade up. It has been faultless but am considering bigger or lighter options. All brands have pros and cons. I do under 100 hours per year so am thinking Etec this time to save on service costs. (Servicing the suzuki every 12 months costs around $600 - $700) My thoughts are will I regret going back from 4 stroke to 2 ?
  2. Hey John, I have just got home from a week holiday in Yamba. I fished the wall as well on a few sessions however I did well on bream all around 28 - 30cm and a flathead 65cm on a vibes. We also trolled the wall found taylor and Salmon just for fun. I did not target Ludrick as I never have fished for them before but I also saw people of all ages targeting them. (How good are the bike set ups with trailers and rod holders all over them). I stayed at the Blue Dolphin which the kids just loved and on our drive home we stopped at Port Macquarie for a 2 night stay and it seems to me that Port loves Ludrick fishing as well in Pelican Bay along the breakwall. If you want a good feed with a great view over lunch try the Yamba Hotel above the beach it has an awsome view, great food and beer. Have fun I just love Yamba but next time I really want to go Snapper fishing I saw many big frames at the boat ramp cleaning tables. I'm back to work tomorrow but fortunately for me I'm doing my South Coast country trip which means I'll have to take a rod and get a couple hours in down Narooma and Merimbula. (Now I wish i knew how to Ludrick fish!)
  3. Hi Raiders, I am looking at changing my current 14 X 19 inch prop to a 13 X 19 Solas 4 Blade on a Suzuki 140 4 stroke. Most people have told me that I will plane quicker and the boat will troll better offshore as it will hold the back of the boat up. I have no issues with top speed and Revs with the current prop but it cavitates if I don't drop the motor almost all the way down at high speed. I would like to know if I will gain much out of the change and should I go to a 17 inch when going 4 Blades? Has anyone ordered from a US store as they are alot cheaper but I don't know if I'm getting the same product? The boat is a Seafarer Viking 5.5 so it's heavy for it's size. Thanks,
  4. Hi Raiders, I have been told by my wife that we are heading to Yamba with some friends for 5 days in June. So I am staring to think of places to fish so any help or advice would be appreciated. I will be taking a boat and would appreciate any advice on places to fish that time of year in Yamba. Would I be better Offshore on River fishing? And what type of fish to target? Personally I'm thinking Snapper offshore but I've never fished that area before.
  5. Excellent Snapper on a plastic. Makes the early start worth it when you get one like that on your first cast. I'm starting to hear that some bigger Kings are starting to turn up on the banks as well. Did you see any boats catch any Kings on your day out?
  6. Hi All, I caught this 80cm Flathead on my first cast in shallows with a popper on Sunday morning in Jervis Bay. Fishing is so addictive! How do we ever give up when this sort of thing happens? I was fishing for bream at the time but obviously happy to catch this flathead. IMGOIN
  7. Hi Guys, We found it tough as well.. Fished a half day effort on Friday afternoon and the only 2 fish landed were Bonito at the 12 mile. Saturday was blown out so stayed in doors as much as possible to keep warm. Sunday we went north to the Kink and landed 2 small Yellowfin which were under 15 kg so released. Stared a cube trail however we got sidetracked and tempted to follow birds busting up only to find dolphins. (big mistake!!) Did not fish the Monday as we needed to get back to work. Had heaps of fun anyway and plenty of Will try JB in the next couple of weeks.
  8. Hi Mate, I have heard nothing but good things about the Tournament boats. Great prices for a very capable offshore rig and set up nicely to suit the family. I recently recieved an email from Family Boats who are a Tournament and Suzuki dealer who are having an on water test day coming up in the next couple of weeks I think. I own a Seafarer with a Suzuki 140hp and Family boats have been great to deal with. Good luck. Anthony
  9. Hi Secho, I am heading down on Friday morning and at the moment will be lucky to fish on Saturday unless the weather changes. I will be fishing from my Seafarer Viking (name IMGOIN2) so will need to keep a close eye on the weather. Our biggest fin caught of Bermi was 47.5Kg so will be hoping to better that this weekend. Anthony
  10. Well done mate you have inspried me to fix my downrigger and try the same around JB for a Snapper. It would be a great experiance catching a snapper downrigging. Cheers Anthony
  11. Here are my toys Seafarer Viking and Brooker Safari. Based in Callala Beach fishing Jervis Bay and Shoalhaven Area. Named IMGOIN and IMGOIN2.
  12. Its all 2002 MKII hull which is same as current layout. I can't tell you when this shape came available but I guess it was around 2000 - 2001. I will be around Callala Beach from Xmas Day to 5th Jan. If you see me around be sure to say g'day.
  13. Sounds good I will be down the coast later this week and depending on work may be able to get a fish in on Friday.
  14. Our Seafarer V-sea is great it handles anything I put it through. The boat lives at Callala Beach in Jervis Bay and mainly gets used in fish the Banks and around the cliffs off JB.
